I want to share a frustrating experience I had with the Nacon Asymmetrical PS4/PC controller. Game controllers generally come in two forms: wired and wireless. For wireless, there are two main types - Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, much like mice and keyboards. The 2.4GHz models typically come with a proprietary USB dongle, often tied to a single device. If you lose that dongle, you’re out of luck unless the device also supports wired operation, which isn't always the case. This is why many users prefer Bluetooth controllers, as they tend to work with any Bluetooth receiver-be it a USB dongle, PCI card, or even the Bluetooth module in your phone. The key word here is "usually." Some controllers, like the first-generation Xbox One and PS3 controllers, won’t work with just any Bluetooth dongle-you need a special adapter or modified drivers. Thankfully, these models typically offer a wired mode, so you can still use them with a cable, which is less convenient but functional. Now, Nacon has developed the Nacon Asymmetrical controller, priced around $50-60-mid-range, not high-end, but certainly not cheap. It’s marketed as a Bluetooth controller. However, it’s actually one of those devices that require a proprietary dongle, which is included. If that dongle gets lost, damaged, or malfunctions (as mine did), you'd expect to be able to use the controller with a cable. Unfortunately, Nacon didn’t design it that way. Instead, Nacon sells replacement dongles separately-for a steep $22, nearly half the price of the entire controller. To be fair, they aren’t the only company with this practice. However, it’s frustrating to see a relatively expensive controller tied to such a costly replacement part. With a Microsoft or Hama 2.4GHz keyboard, you know what you’re getting-an inexpensive device with a proprietary dongle. But with Nacon, you’re led to believe you’re purchasing a Bluetooth controller, only to find out it neither works with Bluetooth nor can be used with a cable. To make matters worse, the replacement dongle’s quality is questionable. Reviews are mixed at best, with many users reporting issues with reconnection, faulty units, or delayed shipping. It currently sits with a mix of 1-star and 5-star ratings, but mostly 1-star. Thanks for your attention!

Would love to see an update to this video after you've spent some more time with it. Especially with fighting games. I'm using a Victrix BFG pro at the moment for Street Fighter and the D-pad is great but I hate almost everything else about it. So would love to hear how this thing holds up. Hopefully well as our man Mr. Crimson has his face on the damn box.

Im having a problem with mine when i turn on ps5 and have the controller wired the controller worm turn on even ehen presseing the ps5 button i have to switch to wireless to turnnit on, anyone wlse have this and how to fix?

@@evilB300 same issue here it’s because there trying to patch out Cronus on FPS games so updates have an effect on 3rd party controllers on wireless mode only works on 3rd party devices

Being able to swap out the stick and dpad is nice. Can you fullswap out the anaologue stick module? I know stick drift be a big issue for people with controllers. I dunno if the die hard PS players will like the stick placements though.

@@Dyogen I have had the controller since release. Theres no need to ever replace the modules in their lifetime unless you drop your controller. They have hall effect analog sticks which will never get drift in their lifetime as they are designed for durability and precision. I've used nacon products since the revolution 2 every single one of them still qorks as good as day one even tho they only started using hall effect analogs on the new one.
