1990 12hp Craftsman II we got for free

I got a 1989 Craftsman LT 12HP just like this one for free from a friend. Needed a starter, solenoid and a new battery. Fired right up! Needs 2 new front tires. Easy fix. No mower deck. I'll have to find one and a new PTO clutch because it stalls out when iturn on the PTO clutch

Not bad guys. I'm surprised a tractor with that small of an engine and deck has an electric PTO of all things. My Cub Cadet has those "idiot lights" too lol. I guess Dave did a good job with that guy's White tractor!

It looks like the old LT 4000 I had but mine had a 18hp v-twin, rear gas tank and fender shifter. Nice video of a nice tractor. 5/5

9 out of 10 times theres so much crap in the fuel tank that the fetlock or tube end inside tank get plugged or rots and cracks so it surges when at full rev when slows it does`nt remove tank clean out put new or clean filter in tank check bowl for water stain blow out venturi clean with torch tip cleaner if a motor is not snapping the gaskets are good ,A surge in the rev means it`s getting fuel but not enough ( How many people filter their fuel ) ? . Another good find .

@LynolsOffice Oh jeez. I used to have a White from '99 and I hated it. Most of those tractors are just crap. Plus those stupid MTD deck designs with the engage and height adjustment combined into one lever are the worst. Even if you use them for mowing they can be a pain in the ass. I don't have that thing anymore but when I got it, the off setting was so stripped that I couldn't even let go of the lever without it engaging. That meant shutting the engine off every time I got off the tractor.

that's an interesting rider..i didn't know that old of a tractor can have all them accessories. i kinda like the monitor display..even though its not practical for me but im sure there are stupid people out there were that would come in handy!

These older 12HP with the Briggs carb had that "bouncy" governor problem. Even when you dialed them in, it still does this. Annoying things.

Anyone know where the fuel pump on that engine is? The fuel pump on mine won't work and I can't find it anywhere. Exploded diagrams don't help me.

@WillieWonka928D Yeah, you're right; I couldn't exactly remember whether they used a Briggs or Kohler engine. And I was talking about the original 111 from the 1980s, which was probably one of the best 11hp lawn tractors ever made.
