The best commuter bike ever made. Handles long distance touring, trips to the market, Haus stuff like a pickup truck, great on fuel economy (50 mpg on 87 octane), very comfortable for rider and passenger, low center of gravity and seat height. Shaft drive and hydraulic valves equals low maintenance requirements. I’ve owned three PC800s and will always have one until I can no longer ride.

I owned a 1990 Pacific Coast I bought new back in 1992. The round gauges on the dash don’t come with the bike. Your previous owner added them. The Honda logo on the truck he also added. The hydraulic lift is design to raise the trunk on its own. Yours may be worn or possibly need adjustment. It’s one of the best all around and reliable bikes I’ve ever owned. I did everything from touring cross state to grocery shopping with it. I live in NY and tourists would take pictures next to it. Seriously. What some owners didn’t know…is that the truck is not only water tight….but each side has a drain plug. So you can pack cold cuts, sandwich’s and soft drinks on ice and head up to the mountains for a picnic. Then drain the water thru the plugs when done. As for passengers….i carried everyone from my girlfriend to a 300lb friend with no problem. Lots of torque. The gas tank located under the seat gives it a nice low center of gravity for cornering compared to my current FJR1300 which the weight is up high. Lots of great memories I have of my PC800.

I hope you kept this bike. I love my PC. You wondered about two up riding. This bike handles two up riding just fine. The torque comes on early and makes for a very useable power delivery. It's so quiet on the highway. My wife and I have been on a number of trips with it. If you take care of it, the bike will run a long time. Many of them have gone well beyond 100,000 miles without engine work. Check out the online PC riders group. Nice group of people, and they organize rides too. Lots of tips on maintenance, etc. In my opinion, it's one of Honda's most underrated bikes. The PC800 is a great sport tourer. Enjoy!

Hey I'm a short guy trying to learn how to lower my pc800 any idea ?
@RpmAuto4 ай бұрын
@roughjeepliving5394 you could try to adjust the rear shock down it should have a adjustable rear shock that you use a spanner wrench with. Maybe go to the front and adjust the front forks up further through the triple trees to make the front lower I don't know if you're going to get it that low though
@SR71BBFLYER8 ай бұрын
I owned a 1990 PC800 many years ago. Great commuter / sport tourer. Super reliable. Little known fact: Each of the trunk compartments has a drain plug and are waterproof. We’d go on picnics in the mountains and I’d load one side with sodas on ice and the other with cold cuts in sandwich bags on ice. Then drain it when done. Very low center of gravity due to what looks like a gas tank is actually the air filter. Gas tank is lower in the chassis. Gauges on the sides of your dash are add ons from the previous owner. As is the Honda emblem on the trunk.

So i hate typing, gonna make this quick. owned a 91 model in 93, 94. Rode the hell out of it. All weather, year round to work, rode two up on the weekends with the wife to have fun. SUPER quiet, great handling. Could pack EVERYTHING for a weekend in that trunk. Seen lots of vids saying it was a dog. BS, rev it up and dump it, pulled the front wheel while spinning the back. Front would bounce after 1st, rise again in 2nd after hitting 60mph, and bounce in 3rd after hitting 70. Rode with yuppies and outlaw bikers. They all loved it. Also raced them a lot and beat them. Always respect. This bike was rated as the safest one by the insurance institute because those lower wings were part of a crash tip system that kept it from going past a certain degree on its side. This was demonstrated to me when it ended its life with me on it in a T-bone crash at 45mph. Car pulled out in front of me and I impacted. Flew over the top. Did a complete flip and hit my ass on the opposite side of a Ford 4 door and hit the ground running. Only injuries was a small bruise on my forearms where the windshield hit me during the flip. The Ford and the PC where totaled. Shoved the front wheel into the engine and the back wheel protruded about 9 inches past the rear fender. Best bike I ever owned and I've had lots of them.

It's a good point. My legs do get a little cramped when riding all day in the saddle. It's a comfortable riding position though. There are quite a few riders who have added pegs on the crash bars that are on the front. There is a slit in the plastic and I have seen Kuryakyn pegs mounted there. The trunk holds 80 liters. I have a rack on mine and a 55 liter trunk. A total of 135 liters, and a place to add more rear lighting if you wish. It's a great bike.

I am in the market for a first motorcycle. I looked at burgmans but I think I want to learn how to drive manual. People said the pacific coast rides really nice. Do you still have that bike? What are your thoughts on it \?
@ipodswag7 ай бұрын
This is a very large a cumbersome motorcycle to be a first bike, I would look for something with a lower seat height, and more importantly, more available information, as your first bike. Having a large intimidating bike that they only made 14000 of might make it challenging to fully enjoy riding at first.
@RpmAuto7 ай бұрын
I agree. Maybe a 250 or a 500
@ipodswag7 ай бұрын
Having gone through 2 Honda Rebel 250's and a Virago 250, I think that closer to the 500 mark is a good idea. The 250's are so user friendly that when I got mine I didn't even know how to ride, I figured it out on the way home. That being said, it got super old super quick, and as I wasn't able to keep up with my buddies I ended up grabbing something bigger. I think the 250's are fun when you have other options, and definitely great to kick around on in cities, but a 500ish range for a first bike makes it easy to learn, and exciting to keep riding even as one's skills progress.@@RpmAuto
