Nice historical automotive film. My wife had one left over from bought new in college. She paid $50 a month. No air conditioning. So it should have had a wind wing like the old VW Beetle. I used to manually adjust her Excel's valves. Around 65,000 miles the Korean rubber engine seals began to leak. A Huyndai service manager confided at that about that mileage "They all do." It's a great retro review back from when Motor Week did them on cars Americans actually wanted and could afford. Thanks for the memories.

They should have tested it with an automatic transmission; manual transmissions are in the minority.

For the US yes... Automatics had less gears, worse reliability, consumption and performance. Also a higher price, but its a crucial part in dumbing down the nation.
