Michael was a brilliant Batman. The surprising thing, is even back here he looks quite old, only being in his 30's.

I don't think it really got much of a look-in over here. It played in London, but I don't think many other British cities ran it, never mind provincial towns.

As has been said, UK and Ireland audiences find all that forced "whooping" and instant applause nonsense cringy, even to this day. Nothing against Michael, who I respect. Just a different conditioned reaction to artificiality.

Especially coming off of playing Beetlejuice, another manic trickster with white face paint and green hair. It's kinda nuts how he wasn't typecast as The Joker and got to be Batman instead.

It really makes me laugh that Michael Keaton's casting as Batman was derided by 'fans' at the time, and now the consensus is about how terrific he was in the part. Although not as much as it makes him laugh, I'd imagine.

In those days, America felt like a distant wonderland, and Hollywood actors were its gods. I always wondered why they bothered visiting this small, rainy, and seemingly insignificant island, humouring our obscure TV hosts and peculiarly reserved audiences.

Why do they visit this insignificant island?? 😂🤣 - 🤑💰💸💵💲It’s written into contracts that the main-stars have to promote the film worldwide….and trust me most American stars love England and feel at home. There’s plenty of insignificant places worldwide and the UK will never fall into that category…that’s a fact not an opinion 😉
