Apache was king then Ben got popped and along came a guy named Reggie Fountain. The rest is history. Granted, Outerlimits set a super high bar at 180 for the speed record in 2015 but Outerlimits is obsolete in the race circuit. If you are racing in the super V class and you’re not in a Fountain you’re toast. Facts. Fountains have DOMINATED all other V bottoms since the mid 90’s. That 47 fountain with 2 steps, carbon fiber lamination, with a full canopy changed everything. I worked at Fountain in Washington NC at age 16 along with my father who was head of R&D. Jim Caldwell also played a huge roll, god rest his soul. Don’t fuck with Fountain if you are racing Super V!
