At the 1990 Cambridge National Championships in Reno, after the tournament, the let us stay an extra day to watch the first 2 rounds of the doubles tournament. In one match, i decided to watch Voss & his partner against Monacelli & his partner. I sat between their wives. I was petrified 😂😂😂😂🎳🎳🎳🎳

Thank you for posting. What a year Chris Warren had in 1990, starting it all with this win at Pimole. The polished urethane balls were finishing like reactive resin. Must have been a dry track and back ends!

@@mpup54 Yep! He won all 4 matches to win the very next year (1991) in Pinole on a very difficult lane condition.

Voss rolling perfect pocket strikes only to watch Monacelli roll 3 right through the nose that carry..Monacelli was very lucky to win that match..

Man, ive never seen anyone ride the last splinter of the last board like Cook. Lol. Unbelievable....and I bet he shit bigger turds that Chris Warren. 🤣. Watched big Steve for a lot of years. Pretty intimidating. Its great to be able to revisit all these old bowling tournaments. Imo, at least in my lifetime, the heyday was late 70s-mid 80s.

Chris Warren really did deserve the win he got, he obviously was bowling better than cook just got a shitload of bad breaks.

Funny cuz Norm Duke’s first win was also against Steve Cook. Two David vs Goliath matches.

irishpogi, any chance you have the 1990 True Value Open from Peoria? Apparently Robert Lawrence won this and this was the "first time Norm Duke had tears in his eyes". I have a feeling this didnt air, but im asking anyway cuz Norm said it was on TV.

there was never "When the Lights Go Out in Pinole" theme song. The phone ring was pretty funny though
