Nice simple tip this week. Common sense to stretch before beginning a session. Unfortunately I'm very useless with a jump rope. Perhaps just as useless as I am on the lanes. :D

Lateef Bolton, very few centers have the room for a large audience, some of the new upgrades like to Bayside Bowl in Portland Maine allow stadium seating.

@irishpogi I seem to recall reading that the Showboat Invitational usually had lower scores. Was it because of wooden lanes or lesser quality balls back then or both? Or the oil pattern?

The combination of all of those elements
@XenoGuru Жыл бұрын
Definitely a combination. But the evenly oiled boards create a "reverse block." Just like in the modern, flatter sport shots like the US Open. The middle is drier, and the outsides are very slick. So if you miss right or left of the ideal line, you pay the price.

1:18:03 so who won this match
@nicholaslloyd56234 жыл бұрын
1990, New wood lanes.... why?? Synthetic was already available
@habyss2 жыл бұрын
But they were still the exception and not the rule. Also consider at this point that they had synthetics at the Atlantic City Showboat and a lot of bowlers weren't used to them when they bowled there in tournaments.

He has a lot of it here compared to what he had left by the late 90s. I think it cost him the announcer job to Randy Pedersen.

Husted defeated Holman 39-36 in the roll-off...it's in the video description

@@chrisfreemesser I went back and noticed that. However, I still thought that it was very poor planning by the person or persons who put this video together to cut off the ending.

@@lynettepalecek3141 I suspect the original source was a videotape made at home on a VCR which was set to record for a specific amount of time. When they went to a tie breaker the show ran long and the VCR shut off before it was over.
@irishpogi Жыл бұрын
@@lynettepalecek3141 I apologize but I was not at home when the show aired and the VCR cut off after 90 minutes of recording. This show went into overtime because of the tie.

Marshel needs to learn to adjust in this match.... he should be going more to the right hand side and letting the ball attack from the right side with the hook instead of throwing from the left side and then trying to make it hook into the 2 head pins.... how do you not try to adjust instead of doing the same thing every time with no success
