I was on that trip. very nostalgic. thanks for uploading. saw many familiar faces, many no longer with us. it's many years since I've been to Campo. spent rather too many years of my life chipping paint with Norm Hill, god rest his soul. I've no idea of the current state of the line... derelict and abandoned probably. it should be taken over by the State of California or the Park Service as a National Monument, restored and leased to a concessionaire as a tourist attraction. it's almost criminal to simply abandon it and let it go to rack and ruin.

Amazing scenery, so much more to see than the bland part of Kansas where I live.Thanks for sharing this.

very VERY cool.. imagine stopping in the wilderness overnight to have campfire under the stars beside the train... then re commence the journey next day...

I had no idea they made excursions after the 80's. What was that lone engine doing on the tracks in the gorge

Following the train, and then rejoined the train at Titus siding as seen near the end of the video. This was so folks on the tail end wouldn't have an engine coupled and obscure their view.

Is this train from the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum ?

The locomotives belonged to SD&IV, and the passenger cars to PSRM.

20:25 is the big wooden trestle? Or 26:31?
@RandyHouk3 жыл бұрын
No, those are small trestles.
