I grew up in Palm City ( now Imperial Beach) and remember seeing an engine, likely one of the consolidations, switching a tank car off into the fuel distributor south of Palm Ave. When I attended Southwest Junior High school in the late '50's One of me morning classes had a beautiful view of the SD&AE main line across the field. I could watch as the morning train headed East toward San Ysidro and Tia Juana

Wow the sand was really built up in areas. As of 2024 much interest is again on this R. R. These guys are lovin this job 😂

Apparently there is yet another study ongoing whether the entire line can be used again. In the meantime, come out to PSRM Campo to ride one of our trains. Next up are the North Pole trains starting on November 29th.
