Just a little advice, no disrespect intended at all. Love you guys. Anyhow when sanding especially on a see-thru finish, always go with the grain. No circular or cross grain sanding. It will show up after the clear is applied and ages. Guitar looked good though and sounded better.

This is a Slammer XP-1 by Hamer. They were made in Korea and later Indonesia. The Slammers had bolt on necks while Hamer USA guitars of this type had set necks. Hamer USA guitars have held their value very well, Slammers not so much.

The original Hamer Standards, also shaped like Gibson Explorers, are some of the best looking guitars ever made..in my opinion at least. They had those nice maple tops with burst jobs on them. They looked like a combination of a 60 LP and an Explorer. Rick Neilson loved them too.

I have a 1980 Hamer Standard. Bought it brand new on September 30 1980. Bad ass guitar. Plays like butter and it's a rock machine. It's a case queen now and worth some serious cash!! Mine certainly does not have bolt on neck. I have owned three Hamer USA models. Chose them over Gibson in the late 70's. Better quality and the prices were not ridiculous for a hand made by pro luthier guitar. None of those had bolt on necks. They were all hand crafted in the USA. The ones I owned that is.

It’s a Scarred Shreddings! So he bought it new in the 90’s? Or it was used in the 90’s? Either way, he wore those frets to the bone - how long did that take, lol?! And he put new strings - was he still playing it, lol?! Gotta love a well loved and played guitar that made music a memories! Btw, those screws? If you nick yourself on them, you better get a tetanus shot! 😂😂😂 That thing just got some much needed love. Great touch that you added lumen lays for fret markers. Trey will always think of the love you gave his guitar you every time he plays that thing at night. It’s like mood lighting! Edit: just saw the end of the video. That purple was a surprise finish! Pun intended, lol. Wasn’t expecting to see that! Cool! Looking forward to hearing Trey play it live!

Double locking Trem? I had a dark blue sparkle one for a while. GREAT guitar for the $100 I paid for it WITH a Tweed HSC! I played the shit outta that thing. I wore out the knife edges on the trem and it would go wildly out of tune if you used the bar or put too much pressure on the bridge resting your hand on it . Sold it to Guitar Center. They gave me $140 trade in credit for it! Paid $100 for it, played it for two years and was paid $40 for the privilege! Ha! They even let me keep the case!

Oh no, it's almost like he knows what he's doing! Oh no, it's almost like he's done this so much that he feels comfortable doing it the way he's comfortable with. My panties are really in a bunch now. (Absolute sarcasm, for those who think I'm serious) The people complaining about how you do guitar work have probably never done anything themselves. And just like with turning wrenches, there's always a way to improvise and it's usually a better way than people think.

SMG, have you ever heard of Evo Gold (white bronze?) fret wire from Germany? They supposedly make propellers and prop shafts out of it. Goodall Guitars uses it on their acoustics. Some say it is as durable as stainless yet has a better sound; perhaps a more "nickel-like", warm sound as apposed to the chimier stainless at the same price as stainless. Yes i am aware that the difference in tone between nickel and stainless are quite negligible, however it would be cool to see you try it on one of your next builds. Would like to hear your opinion on it, and thanks for sharing your videos!
