Yeah they do , we lost our half German Shepherd/husky mix last summer. He was all black and I named him Sabbath , he lived to be 13 years old. We have another pure bred German Shepherd named Slayer , we kept the metal thing going and got a kitten named Dio 🤘 Dogs are great companions and have quite the personalities , they really are man's best friend!✌️ PS we had a paw print casted after he passed and had him cremated for my daughter...

I see I’m not the only one who loves watching you sand and carve bevels with that drill. It is truly an art. The staining on this guitar is absolutely stunning. Shoutout to Trey on the phone. Benjamin Maxedon is gonna enjoy his guitar for sure. Those personalized necks are always really cool. Always wear your respirator protection, kids! The pickups are the star of the show. That’s hilarious about the magnets being so strong! Cathy will get it dialed in better, and that’s why they are called “prototypes,” but it’s an amazing idea to use inexpensive fridge magnets. I made some fun suggestions on Cathy’s channel for future prototypes. You’re gonna get cracked for sure, but it always takes a little crazy to make something insanely awesome! 😂😂😂 Whoever didn’t see her video needs to go check out the Scarred My Pickups channel. It’s fun watching Cathy work, plus you might learn something!

Neodymium magnets can create a large field. I'd reduce the number to just one. I like the look of the neodymium as a rail but putting it at the top of the pickup will pull at the strings. Perhaps turn the pickup so that the narrow edge is used as the rail. For this you'd need to change the orientation of the poles though. Alternatively, you could mount two magnets at the bottom of the bobbin and have steel screws to extend the field, sort of like a P-90 but with a lot more magnetic field.

I think Cathy is on to something with those Neo magnet pickups. You might want to keep that top secret. They definitely have a unique sound of their own. Good for you guys! You never know. You should probably put a patent on that idea before someone steals it. Sorry about your loss.

I was thinking that was a lot of magnets, and Neodymium is even more powerful than the most powerful ceramic. The visible rails you see on top of a Dimarzio X2N is not the magnets.

@steev3d10 ай бұрын
I had a feeling that there would be a lot of pull in those magnets. Quote from Wikipedia "Some high-output pickups employ very strong magnets, thus creating more flux and thereby more output. This can be detrimental to the final sound because the magnet's pull on the strings (called string capture) can cause problems with intonation as well as damp the strings and reduce sustain." If you just used 1 or 2 with a single piece of flat steel on its side like a blade glued on its edge to the flat side of the magnets (to make a T cross section) that could work. If you look up single coil blade pickups on google you will see what I mean.

ive seen both videos and if she can get the the magnets down to where they are not pulling any more i would give a pair a try, love they way they sound. I may be wrong but since those type of magnets are stronger, she may be able to make them so thin that they might even fit thin guitars like squier affinity,s with the 1 1/2" bodies. get after it!

Really nice finish! I'm currently on a custom bass build for me, and I'm planning to do a very similar finish on it. I don't have such an awesome flamed maple top, it's white limba, aka korina. But if all goes well, we're getting some really nice flamed maple for the neck! And it will get neodymium pickups as well, as in your demo in the end. But we're going for only 1 layer, so there will be no string pull issue.

I believe those pickups would be more suited for metal. Deeper pickup pockets so the magnetic sweet spot could be achieved and crank the distortion. I'd like to see how the feedback and harmonics perform with it being that microphonic. Might push it to the limit by using them in a hollow or semi-hollow body like Gary Clark Jr.
