It was when they swapped to the McPherson struts that Honda fanboys used to make fun of domestic cars for having. But cost of production and crash worthiness prevailed (no way a double wishbone setup would help at all in a frontal offset). Plus.. double wishbone was just a solution of trying to find more room for transverse engines in the Civic, Accord, and Preludes of the 80s. Handling was a side effect.. not intentional. But I love my tenth gen Civic. It’s the anti-Civic. Short shift it, don’t bother downshifting. Highway pulls in 6th gear up with max torque at a mere 1800 RPM. 6500 RPM redline and no annoying VTEC. And room for my entire family and luggage for a week long getaway while getting 40 MPG.

@@Bartonovich52 I've been looking at the 2022 civic sedan and I really like the style. It actually reminds me of the 92-95 front end. I think my biggest complaint was the changes they made in 01. Seemed like cost cutting and less quality but they definitely improved after that gen.

For those who never heard and for those who wanna share it. HERE IS THE MILLION-DOLLAR QUESTION: Will you go to Heaven when you die? Here’s a quick test: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God’s name in vain? Jesus said, “Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” If you have done these things, God sees you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day God will punish you in a terrible place called Hell. But God is not willing that any should perish. Sinners broke God’s Law and Jesus paid their fine. This means that God can legally dismiss their case: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Today, repent and trust Jesus, and God will give you eternal life as a free gift. Then read the Bible daily and obey it. God will never fail you

@Bartonovich523 жыл бұрын
Two things that American cars were 100% superior to Japanese cars back then: 1) Crashworthiness. I would not want to be in a 90s Toyota or Honda hitting an American car. 2) Rust proofing. There are Pontiac Grand Prixs that have been sitting out in farmer fields for 20 years that have less rust than Japanese cars even ten years old.
@townsendliving97503 жыл бұрын
@@Bartonovich52 i would say both my statement and your statement are both opinions, I own a mechanic shop, I work on this stuff everyday. My opinion, Japanese vehicle ran so much better and were alot higher quality, forged cranks, chrome rings, nicklesil cylinders, actually unit balanced from the factory, they were for sure ahead of thier time. I guess it depends on make and model, we dont deal with rust where I live, so we actually get to use them for along time, most japanese cars go 300k without many issues, very little American stuff I get though here has 200k before they go to shit. But like I said, opinion Based. But I think majority of machinc shops would agree

If you want a new car every four years, leasing is always the way to go. The buy out is always higher than the value.. just give it to the dealer and sign up for a new one. Financing you will always have paid more in interest and depreciation. If you were a business that required a new car for brand image and could write it off.. it was a no-brainer. But the mistake is to buy new at all..: and to not keep your car for at least ten years. Heck.. lots of 90s cars would go 20 years no problem, but we didn’t know that yet and were barely out of cars that only lasted 100,000 miles from the 70s.
