@DJ Motovlogs I've got a page on here with my 95 Legend and most of the videos are older, and unfortunately compared to most of the cars you listed, The Legend doesn't get the love they do just because of FWD. And less power of course. And the reason I know this and it's pretty obvious as mine is a modified sedan, and again with it FWD vs RWD, I used to take mine to car meets and it received love, However not nearly as much as the ones you listed for the most part. Many didn't even know what kind of car it is! Also the lack of aftermarket performance parts and back to the Legend being FWD, I guess I stand out because I have never seen one Legend at our local car meets here in Nashville. Ever. And it's so funny that people look at it and go what the heck kind of car is that lmao

Legacy, First Gen Impreza, First and Second Gen Altimas, Stanza, 90s Camrys, Corollas, old civics, accords, Mazda 323, 626, MX-6, Infiniti M30, Infiniti G20, and Lexus ES300 were all great sedans, and coupes. Also for SUVS, the Land Crusier, 4runner, LX470, Nissan Pathfinder, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, Infiniti QX4, Acura SLX/ISUZU Trooper, Isuzu Rodeo, Lexus RX300. Majority of them, except for some civics, accords were all built in Japan. The Bubble economy was very interesting.

I sold Acura’s back during the Legend and RL eras and I never understood why a manufacturer would give up the quality name recognition of such an amazing product that others would kill to have. People loved the Acura Legend and everything that name meant. The 3 generations of RL’s (including RLX in there too) that came after just languished on lots/showrooms and all the loyal prior Acura Legend owners jump shipped to Lexus/Infiniti or one of the German competitors and with the recent discontinuation of the extremely slow selling RLX that finally ends nearly 25 years of a completely bland and lackluster product that literally did nothing in the marketplace .....and when compared to the success and competitiveness of the Legend, Acura should be ashamed that they gave that market to the competition by having a completely unremarkable flagship sedan that was basically never anything more than a wallflower, especially when Honda as a company has proven it can go head to head with anyone on an engineering level when they put their mind to it.

@@lervin78 Infinity committed slow suicide by turning the Q (which was more a 5 series competitor) into a Seville, and selling lightly reskinned & badged mediocre Nissan product. Nothing at Infinity is premium.

It is very sad that the marketers and upper management at Honda didn't understand that name recognition is EXTREMELY important, especially when a platform as fantastic as this started out with a fantastic NAME. Once names are replaced with script, the "feel" for a make disappears even if the new model is objectively and subjectively superior to the prior named version. Just ask Cadillac and Lincoln what happened to their sales when they retired such fantastic names as Eldorado, Seville, Fleetwood Brougham, Continental (retired for a 2nd time in recent history) , Mark series, Town Car and replaced them with totally bland letter and number combinations. I'm 49 years old and in position to purchase these nicer cars, but I just can't do it because the names are meaningless to me. A name means something and if I can't place a meaningful name with a car, the whole car is uninteresting to me.

We were impressed with the casket's walnut exterior and excellent brass handles the interior was nicely finished with tastefully chosen fabrics and colors the only thing missing was a voltmeter and oil pressure gauge. Prices start at a low eleven thousand our model topped out at a reasonable twelve seven five nine.

I owned a first generation coupe, super fun car and built solid as a rock. These second gen cars were bigger and cushier but still a great ride. The 1993-95 230 hp type ii GS Legends with the 6 speed manuals are super rare collectors now. If you find one in good shape grab it, they’re worth a lot and are only going to appreciate.

Not how it works. KA7 Legend design was created from 1986 to 1988, approved in early 1988, and launched in November 1990. This was 80s ingenuity, not necessarily 1991. Bubble Economy I work in a design and product planning capacity. We design cars 4-6 years out and finish our design work 2.5 to 3 years before release. And so do our competition. By the time this episode aired in March 1991, it had been over 3 years since that interior was created.

Acura really messed up in the early 2000s dropping all of the names going to just letters and making ugly cars. Remember when Acura was winning award after award each year?? Yah Acura isn't crap anymore and their sales show it! Sad, I wish they would wake up like Lincoln did and get back to their roots.

@@ReidEvers Yep. Those RSX Type-S’s had the same K20 engine as the coveted 8th gen Civics. They may have came with K24’s in later years but I can’t remember for sure. Either way, awesome cars. I always thought that the TL’s with the Super Handling AWD system were awesome as well.

@@ReidEvers No kidding? Nice, man. When I was in my 20’s I was into the more aggressive types of cars. I’ve owned Porsche’s, multiple C5 Corvettes (99’ frc w/ all bolt-ons, 02’ Z06 w/ >500 rwhp and extensive suspension/brakes/aero/cooling/weight reduction modifications as well), 350Z, etc. Also had a few SUV’s and trucks that I modded for off-roading (3rd gen 4Runner w/ locker/35’s/winch etc., 1st gen Porsche Cayenne w/ 35’s/light bar/winch/snorkel etc., Lexus LX470 (Lexus version of the Toyota Landcruiser; nicer and just as reliable, but here in the US they are somehow less expensive), 04’ Jeep Wrangler on 33’s, square body Chevy S-10, 69’ Chevy C-10 heavily modded, 74’ F-series w/ modded 460 and 35’s, 74’ Chevy truck w/ modded 350 and 35’s, 96’ Grand Cherokee on 35’s, other stuff can’t remember lol). Also had a BMW X5 4.4i, BMW 745i, 07’ Mercedes CLS63 AMG (exhaust, chip, intake and wheels/tires. Incredibly powerful car with luxury to match. Unfortunately the upkeep was prohibitively expensive, so I didn’t get to keep it very long), and a handful of Camry-esque dailies. Needless to say, buyin’ and sellin’ vehicles is one of my big hobbies. I digress. Now that I am in my 30’s, I am beginning to appreciate cars that I either looked down on or never even considered. The RSX type S is a great example; as a Corvette owner I used to see import 4 cylinders as super weak. I didn’t realize the appeal, nor see just how fun they could be. Actually, one of my first cars was a last-gen Toyota Celica GT-S (the 2ZZ 1.8 they came with was comparable to the K20. Equal horsepower and torque, w/ the VVT-i and Vtech-like lift program that kicked in around 6,000 rpm. Only thing that really hurt mine was being the 4A instead of 6M), but it just never lit my fire. Lexus and Acura are really coming onto my radar more now as I get older too.

@@lambrinos - Acura tried this "A6 / A7" market with the RLX (the last time the Honda Legend was sold in USDM), but with every new cycle the RL and then RLX became "too generic" and since large sedans doesn't sell (IIRC, the RLX wound up selling < 1K / year in US) "it got the axe" (2019?). Nowadays, the almost as large (US Accord-based) TLX V6 is doing a better job attracting the Legend clientele.

@@demikoo agreed as I still own a 95 Legend sedan. I have had a since 2004. It sits at 345K miles still with the original C32. I still drive it daily However I have modified it including properly lowered with wheels and larger tires that flow well with the car, and the looks and stares I still get, are very self-satisfying. Now it also has a full exhaust, a paint color that's light blue-suzuka blue metallic which was the same light blue on the Gen 1 S2K. It needs paint again and will probably go a darker blue metallic something different, yet still in good taste. I have a page on here if you want to check it out... nothing very new tho' All this to say what you said... Except I would upgrade the exterior just a bit to modernize the look just a hair, and to still look very very similar to the 91-95 Legend. And I know you'll agree, the look was extremely unique particularly the rear tail light section and the side view where the engine or hood rather met the two side doors. Just a beautiful car and still a pleasure after 26 years to drive and to look at. I don't know if you or y'all are performance folks or not, but about 5 years ago after I had every bolt on and of course the full exhaust and a tuned ECU plus other things, I had about 300 butt hp. I was keeping up with the 300 hp Maxima's for example... As in dead Even on high speed open highway runs. But now with so many miles, the compression is down considerably, and most likely will swap a used low mileage engine in and it may be the 3.5 from NextGenRL. And I'm still debating on whether or not swapping another C32 in, as they Rev higher and have a higher compression rate. The aftermarket was not very nice to The G2 Legend, but I was able to get solid HP and hang around some of the big boys this side of the, you know, 400 > HP mustangs Camaros BMWs etc etc etc.ect ect ect >>> lol

That is the one car that I know that lived up to its name. My friend had one with 168,000 miles and he drove the car for so long that when it eventually died from overheating. it died at 360,000 miles on. Thar car is a legend.

The tape deck ejected them on turning off to prevent developing flat spots on the rollers. I wish the tape decks in other cars did that, as I would manually eject them every time I parked the car to prevent this.

@Genesis Most definitely. The engine sits longitudinally and the reason the Japanese built it FWD, was for handling purposes. I still own a 95 sedan and it's modified including being properly lowered, and every bolt-on that was available and the aftermarket support was never good for the G2 Legend. So many parts have been discontinued, so think goodness for junk yards and a gentleman in Florida that can usually find the part or parts that have been discontinued for a bunch-well the few and the proud or the dumb lol, of us on the Legend enthusiast page on Facebook. Or better still on a legend and still sink money into it. I get asked a lot to sell it and It doesn't even have a price tag on it.because I would just go buy another one and do the exact kind of stuff I've already done to this one. However I've made the best of it. It needs paint now again for the 3rd time as I drive it daily somehow, And when I was taking it to car meets 5 years or so ago when it looked really really good, and showed the engine / I had to convince so many people it was FWD and not RWD... Simply due to the way the engine sat in there just like a RWD. Again longitudinal... In case you all were not aware. It's my artwork and I actually have a page on here with some older vids of it. I'm going to paint it a really unique darker color blue metallic most likely as soon as possible. And it's going to be beautiful again. It had its first wreck after owning it 14 years about about a year and a half ago. It was the kind of accident on interstate here in Nashville that you don't normally survive, particularly the car. Luckily all that came out of it was replacing the 2 front fenders and 3 of the 4 doors. And I've got all those replaced so it's now black and blue. All that to say once it is painted again, It's going to be amazingly sexy beautiful just like the car was built to look like. Except mine being lowered with different wheels and tire size that flow well with it. Imho. And for whatever reason I think it's so cool to have a modified sedan over a coupe. Don't get me wrong, the coupes are absolutely gorgeous, and much for harder to find nowadays, however You just don't modify sedans like I did (And I'm certainly not the only one to have done this over the years by a long shot), and that's the coolest part of it 🤔😉

I still have my 91 Acura Legend LS sedan. This car has been good to us. My only knock was it was too low to the ground causing issues with bumper and curb clearance. One too many wear and tear repairs caused me to put it out to pasture. Sadly I’ve neglected it the past few years. debating on letting go as is or fixing and selling.

I had this the dark green exterior and tan interior combo on a '92 Legend LS Sedan. Mine was a 5 speed. I don't recall getting much better gas mileage than they did in the auto. Back in those days, usually manuals yielded much higher MPG.

I Just bought a Black Honda Accord 2012 EX-L v6 with a 3.5 Liter, 271 Horse Power, with Only 25,771 Miles currently on it (41,476 Kilometers). Let's just say that I purchased a Great Car for 1/4th of it's original Price!

Not to be that guy but I've got a modified 95 sedan like this one on the vid but newer and I've had it 16 years and I can smoke the new accords only because of it being modded as much as you can mod one. And I will say for sure if I was going to buy a new car I would look hard at what you've got... They look great and I'm sure the aftermarket performance parts are easy to find or come by vs how few the legend had performance market wise... But I've got them all. And all that to say if you stuck a couple of things on yours, you would annihilate me. But The new Accord... The Honda hit a Grand slam with those. And they look so much better than the Camry. The front end on the Camry is just goofy to me anyway. And I will take those to the woodshed too until I meet one that's modified because they're 300 horsepower out of the showroom. Of course mine was just 200 HP and I essentially made it into a type II And again with all the aftermarket bolt ons that are available in a couple of internals. It probably has 300 butt HP. Thing is HP is not everything of course on a car it's so many other things. I don't run a cat and I have lightened pulleys which really make a difference along with a full exhaust a CAI and several other mod parts as well. Congratulations to you my friend for picking up such a beautiful car that has plenty of power stock unlike if you were to have just a base model legend nowadays without any mods You would be embarrassed by most modern vehicles.

I'm so glad Acura is finally returning to building very desirable and good looking vehicles. The '21 TLX is simply gorgeous. The '22 MDX, which will be released 02/02/21, is also amazing. And the 3rd generation RDX looks sweet too. The NSX is nothing short of awesome. The only model lagging behind now is the ILX, which Acura intends to replace within the next year. Acura definitely went through a lull but their latest offerings prove that they are back strong!

This was the best quality car Acura Built. Although the Head Gaskets blew due to improper maintenance probably and even with a Blown Head I’ve seen Ppl still were able to drive these for a long time.

It is one luxury car with the world's smallest front grill. Never gonna see it like that nowadays. Seems like every grill is now ginormous...look at Lexus, BMW, and GMC for a start...serious overkill.

I wish I had your problems. My family over in Czechoslovakia had a Škoda 105L for 26 years with a whopping 44 horsepower. If you haven't started in a week or so, you had to open the hood and manually pump up the gas to the carburetor.

this was one of my favorite cars ever owned. The engine and handling was top notch for the time. On off ramps the rear end would just hang out if prompted in a very controlled way If you can find one now(2021) not rusted out...get it

The early 90s represented the pinnacle of Acura/Honda engineering. The best sedan initially in smoothness, quality, and overall prowess. Nothing from America could touch it. Unfortunately, Toyota with their Lexus lineup ended Acura's claim of highest owner satisfaction and of course the name changes or designations. The RL and such. I still wonder why they got away from the Legend designation and never came back. It would have revitalized the brand from a marketing standpoint or at least imo.

That Legend still turns heads today. Acura's TLX has LESS cabin space and are Made in Ohio LOL.

Less cabin space in the TLX makes sense considering it's barely mid-sized, and the Legend was mid-to-full size.

I sold Acura’s back during the Legend and RL eras and I never understood why a manufacturer would give up the quality name recognition of such an amazing product that others would kill to have. People loved the Acura Legend and everything that name meant. The 2 generations of RL’s that came after just languished on lots/showrooms and all the loyal prior Acura Legend owners jump shipped to Lexus/Infiniti or one of the German competitors and with the recent discontinuation of the extremely slow selling RLX that finally ends nearly 25 years of a completely bland and lackluster product that literally did nothing in the marketplace .....and when compared to the success and competitiveness of the Legend, Acura should be ashamed that they gave that market to the competition
