RFK was the opposing team's burial site.. Ryp was literally the Cinderella of the NFL.. Gary Clark was a cheat code.. The defense was merciless and this was the greatest team EVER.

I wasn't there in fact I couldn't even watch the game. I was with my cousins and aunt touring the Capitol Building that day. It was miserable outside. I got back too late to catch any part of the game. Hell I didn't even get to see any of the highlights until years later when people finally put this up on KZbin.

I've been a Redskins fan practically my whole life and seeing these highlights from the glory days, I sadly wasn't alive for, is amazing. I wish that the Commanders understood why this name means so much to us fans. In my lifetime I've only seen the Redskins win 1 playoff game back in 2005. I hope and pray they change the name back to Redskins, as remote a possibility as that is, because the name, the logo, and the history mean a lot to the fans. Thank you for posting these videos!

I grew up in DC, a diehard REDSKINS FAN and remember ALL 4 Super Bowl victories (and the devastating loss to the Raiders in 1984). The Glory days were THOSE...GLORY! I had the chance to meet several of the players from the 1991 Championship Team. Charles Mann signed my REDSKINS shoes at a free promo at a Modell's store in DC.

The Redskins just went out and had everything clicking. Deion was hurt, Chris Miller was hurt. They were going with a backup and the Redskins teed off. The secondary were using backups so Rypien had a field day. Everything clicked that day. Sadly for 7 year old me, I didn't see the game. My family and my cousin's family went to the Capitol Building that day. We toured it and the only thing I saw was about 10 seconds of the game from the security check in and out that was on the little personal grey TV. I didn't get to see game footage until people uploaded the game on KZbin years later.

@RetroSkins my younger brother and I both concur this is all so bittersweet to look at but it's all we have left now, those 85 seasons from pre-2022. We have some requests if you can access these items: NFL 75th anniv. VHS tape of greatest moments in Redskins history sold at Safeway stores originally; Redskins 75th anniv. DVD narrated by Bernard Shaw offered free w/purchase at Burger King (sometime around 2007); in addition would like to know so any movie theater newsreels from late '30s to 1960s contain features of Redskins at Occidental College training camp or 1960s-1970s TV news clips of welcome home luncheons or other off-field community TV news footage of Redskins at charity events from past decades??? Will be patiently waiting for future RetroSkins uploads. Thanks a million!!!
