1991 Ford F 250 7.5l water pump and broken bolts removal

I was hoping to get away with out any of the water pump bolts breaking. looks like one did break. time to drill and tap! Thank you for watching

I ran in to this many times they seize up from corrosion, what i do is made a hollow bit from brake line that just fit over the bolt, you install a steel rod in one end of the line so you can grip it tight with a drill and the other end make it jagged to cut the corrosion, and it worked great . and the timing cover was never damaged, the bolts would come out as you drilled, it was so easy to do. just snap all the heads off which usually happened trying to remove them then drill them no problem did it many times and never damaged the cover. so simple. No heat required.

dang just when we need help the 4th video is not here.. Shop quoted `1034$ for new hoses and water pump... 91 f 250 only 133k miles... wonder if I will need new bolts... why did you have a new timing cover.. it here a newer better version??

I have an '89 7.5l Ford, and am wondering how is the harmonic damper a press fit on the crankshaft, when it's butting up against the counter weight? Is the crankshaft tapered? What am I missing here?

Great video! Aee you going to upload a new one soon? I'm ta the same stage and I want to replace the timing cover gasket and front main seal since I now have the water pump off due to it leaking. But, How involved is it. Am I going to have to pull the engine a bit because of the bottom of the timing cover overlapping the oil pan? Thank for the great video!

Yes I will be uploading more videos concerning this job soon. You should not have to lift or pill the engine to get to those bottom bolts. If you take your time, don't rush, and pay attention to detail just about any one even those with very little experience can complete this job in my opinion.

Yes there kits you can buy right from the autoparts store because this is very common.
