How come. It ridiculously brings my memory back. Seriously, I was living where exactly you were on the video. Have no words to say any further. Thanks for your record and it’s such a lucky day for me to watch (found) this video in KZbin.

Lyle, love these retro videos of Takasaki. I'm going there in January and plan to do my own walkabout vids.

Something I cut out of this one was a series of comments I made at the time regarding my reception there. Of the various places I went back then, this was the least welcoming. Watching myself on camera talking about that (cut out to keep things positive) I've been pondering why things were that way, and I think maybe it was due to a large number of foreigners there (at the time) having done things that displeased people and so they didn't like outsiders very much? Just speculation.., I did see missionaries (from at least two rather pushy religions) and construction workers (a new thing at the time). Anyway, thought I'd mention that, because I'm interested in hearing what reception you get.
I left Takasahi 30 years ago . now live in overseas this remind me my childfood in Takasaki . How come you went to Takasaki and took film? You still live in Japan? Thanks for Great film

Hello. In 1990 and 1991 (and to a lessor extent in 1992 and 1993) I went places to record video - mostly in and around Tokyo. Takasaki is one of the major cities near Tokyo, so I went there a few times to take video - this particular video being taken on September 14th, 1991.
