The Steve Lightle and Arthur Adams drawn cards are definitely the best of that set.

I have a whole set I sleeved up into a binder when I broke 4 or 5 boxes looking for a full set of bonus cards. I still have them...

You should consider making playlists for your channel. Loving the Marvel openings but they're hard to find with the amount of videos you put out.

100% agree and I've been saying that also, but its very important to understand that I am lazy. (I'll do it today, lol)

thank you for sharing this video. I watched it entirely because of hearing about the 92 MM cards being "loose" and/or damaged if still sealed in the tins; I like you, prefer the 92 MM over the 90 MU cards; I never cared for the 91 MU cards because the art plain sucked - if you compare the quality of the artwork between the 1991 Marvel Universe versus the 1990 set, anyone can see what I am talking about. I loved the 1990 set, and in the past I had the entire set including all the holograms. I have been oblivious to market conditions for these cards, but am rather disheartened that now that people are talking about them again (because now I can maybe re-finish my 1990 set) the prices are plain nutty. I have two complete sets of MM, one basline set of cards, and one complete set of promo cards (there's nine of them) - I am only missing the "lost cards" set that came in those tins... but if the tin prices are getting nutty, I don't know that I can justify spending that much just to get five cards.

Intersting. So you mean the 1990 set reffering to series 1? And 1991 reffering to series 2?
@originalsoundjunky2 жыл бұрын
@@CyborgNinja-84 sorry if my abbreviations were at all confusing; When I wrote "90MU" I was abbreviating for the 1990 Marvel Universe cards; When I wrote "92MM" I was abbreviating the 1992 Marvel Masterpieces cards. The 1990 Marvel Universe were series 1 - but at the time they did not have a series designation - ditto with the first run of the (1992) Marvel Masterpieces cards - only the subsequent card sets used a series designation.

I heard from more than one source that when the 1990 series 1 stuff cools off a little, the 1991 series 2 stuff could get hot, just like the series 1 stuff is now. So if you have the series 2 cards and boxes from 1991, I would hold it for a while and watch the prices. The sealed boxes are going up, they are around $180 to $300, and in the future they could go much higher, just like the 1990 sealed boxes did about 6 months ago. These collectiong experts I saw talking about this were saying they think series 2 could be as hot as series 1, in 9 months to a year. And they speculated that it would only happen for series 1 and series 2. Does anyone else have any more information about this, I am thinking of buying 4 or 5 sealed boxes of the series 2 cards, in case the prices on them skyrocket in the future.

If you can get a tin from early in the run you will have a better chance of getting higher quality cards. I don’t know the masterpiece tin number, but the 91 set was 4,000 something into the run... if you can get one in the under 500 range then you will get MUCH better cards.

I want to get into Marvel Comics, which set would you say is the best to start with? The very first or most iconic set?
@FortyBreaks4 жыл бұрын
Comics or cards? For Comics the icons are Spiderman, X-Men, Avengers, etc. For cards the main iconic set is going to be 1990 Marvel Universe series 1 followed by 1992 Marvel Masterpieces in my opinion.

@@FortyBreaks Yes for the sets I should be looking into collecting. The 1990 set looks really expensive at around 3000$
@FortyBreaks4 жыл бұрын
Very expensive but it's definitely the standard, the iconic set. 1991 series 2 is a cheaper secondary option but still pricey. 1992 Marvel Masterpieces is the flagship for that line of product but again, getting expensive. Marvel is exploding right now.

How much is the tin worth opened?? Cards in great shape
@FortyBreaks4 жыл бұрын
Not very much, opened. Hard to ensure that all cards are present, easy to switch out the best conditioned cards for worse condition. Sealed is the way to go if you are hoping to grade them.
