Subscribed for the mr-2 stuff. I have a 91 n/a MR-2 that's bone stock with about 500K miles on it, one owner before me, perfectly maintained and used as a highway commuter. And even though it still runs well i'm definitely thinking about some kind of full rebuild or engine swap. I have a lot of people suggesting a V6 swap since it requires varey little modification and is really reliable.

+connly33 Cool, thanks! The V6 swap is great. I opted for the 3S mainly because I didn't have a means to fabricate motor mounts and exhaust.

I recommend you you look into the 3sgte 4th gen st215... best mr2 swap hands down...

+connly33 Hey mate, i have had both a 3.0 v6 and currently own rev 4 mr2 turbo tin top. The turbo is leagues ahead. Hope it helps.

john smith yeah... it's pretty fast and reliable and up to date with a modern engine, obd2 if I'm not mistaken. ... but don't get me wrong the I think v6 is an awsome swap... but a pain in the but with the motor mounts...

+connly33 Look for campos on Facebook. He does gen4 swaps for I think it was $2300. That is a killer deal plus shipping if you aren't located in LA. He hand picks every motor.

What axle did you use for the conversion? I'm having a hard time putting my na axle on they seem to be short

hey id like to get in touch i am ripping my motor out of my mr3 again in order to finally swap this motor into it.. the proper motor.. i currently have a beams redtop 3sge but i need more TQ and more modability.. my main concernes are the wiring... i have the 5sfe cluster and wanted to know how that worked for you? also thank you very much for the write up you did on the forum!! it is going to help with the wiring

You should put up a walkthrough of your MR2 would love to see. Are you running stock exhaust?
