too bad it didn't sell. IMO it was bid to a fair price.

For an OEM 1991 it appears to have the wrong wheels. The "teardrops" belong on the 1989-90.
@eg6racer1012 жыл бұрын
If you had any understanding of aerodynamics, you would see that the wheels pull air away from the brakes. They don't "scoop" air toward the brakes. This concept of creating a vacuum is called the Venturi Effect.

Thanks for immortalizing the 240sx in stock form on the internet, all the ones I've seen in person have been heavily modified and I'm sure the same goes for all of us. I hope you find a mint 240z to get your hands on for a review soon!

8:50 That door chime is so reminiscent of the datsun 280zx and other cars of the era. Super cool. I love the auto seatbelts, the simple steering wheel, smooth flowing dashboard, pop up headlights, and surprisingly, the automatic transmission. This is something you dont see, ever, in 2022.

I’m just glad to see one of these that hasn’t been modified or mistreated. Drifters ruined these cars for those of us who just wanted to drive these as cheap fun.

Very clean, I have a very clean 64k '92 Red with a 5 speed. Have done some very minor and reversible mods to it (catback, wheels, coilovers) but otherwise it's all stock. The temptation to turbo the KA is very real, these cars are not fast at all.

From what I understand it's pretty easily doable you just gotta swap the pistons and connecting rods with something beefier designed to handle boost.

My dad had this car when I was super young. I have distant memories of sitting in those back seats. Apparently it couldn’t pass the smog test so he had no choice but to sell it. The worst part was the very next year my state got rid of the smog test.

When I was growing up a friend of my best friend had this exact spec but I think it was one of the years that those wheels were available. His was a manual and funny enough his car never struck me as anything special. Crazy how things can change eh? I still think my favorite car from that period of time was the Prelude with the 4WS. SUPER hard to find an example that hasn't been driven into the ground but my friend who had one said the handling especially in the rain was MIND BENDING. Unfortunately he took that too far and wrecked the car IN THE RAIN! Sigh....
@devandrasimanjuntak16462 жыл бұрын
I’ve always preferred the look of the early 90s Prelude rather than the late 90s one. More roundness to it, makes it feel more natural.

This is amazing to see a stock S13 because you pretty much never see them anymore. This car is basically what you would've found on a used car lot back in the mid to late 1990s before people discovered drifting. These were throw away cars. Nobody cared about.

I have lots of not so old Japanese cars that I would have in my fantasy garage of only Japanese cars. The 240SX does make the cut. I've got a 95 Miata 5 speed a 2008 Honda Fit 5 speed and a 1995 Toyota Camry with only 76,000 miles. That one is my time capsule car. I also have a 71 BMW 2800 CS with about that mileage but the bottom is very Ritz cracker. Thanks for covering these old cars

KA24's both in SOHC and DOHC version are great engines. They are the successor to the Nissan L-series engines (see How to Modify Your Nissan & Datsun OHC Engine by Frank Honsowetz). Great for turbo and mild N/A builds. Turbo KA's have been popular for a long time.

Great review as always, so the power seat belts are no longer being used for several reasons, but if you are a female like my mom who in the 90s was driving a Geo Prizm, her earring got stuck on the power seat belt as it was moving and The seatbelt literally ripped the earring out of my mom‘s ear and hear ear lobe….😓 I remember the day vividly and I’m sure it was no fun for her….

@TheRyansLion2 жыл бұрын
They’re good as a drift platform which doesn’t need to be super sporty. I think a lot of the hype stems from the jdm versions with the turbo and 200hp, as well as the looks.

The chassis is excellent by today's standards and the engines they were meant to have could take 400hp without internal work :)

Love the start up chime!! My mother's 1988 Nissan Stanza Altima had that! I love this example it's very well kept n extremely clean with everything oem factory. The radio is still inside with the premium audio system. I hope the next owner won't trash it like other 240s. If the car community doesn't get self restrained soon these cars will dissappear to the scrapper. I definitely know we lost alot of icons to this. From eating shit at failed drifts and street racing accidents. 90s civics and earlier are already going away. But nooo I want to destroy these cars like burnout games and be a 🤡 at a stupid fantasy with an empty space in their hearts. Like grow a pair keep these clean!! Clean cars are WORTH ALOT MORE LIKE THAT.
