I know it may have been hard for Selena to do this kind of music because her crowd may have not been use to this kind of music but it’s such a huge honor that she was influenced/inspired and rep the black culture as much as she could I’m a black woman who looks up to her dearly.

Cool! Got any more gems like this????? I always say we were robbed of this lovely talent. She'd have been so much fun to watch on TV & stage in the US. She was flyer than the Fly Girls! (Trust me, I know this is Selena Quintanilla Perez.) Thank you for sharing. ^__^

Flyer than the fly girl. Why y'all always trying to shade JLo? SELENA was her own person and so is JLo. Respect the Queens.

This reminds me of Chris' book that mentioned something that they had their first kiss prior to a concert where they wore the cow suits

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere along the line, Selena did have African ancestry. Mad Afro Mexicans live in Costa Chica and El Azufure, but thanks to ideas that Black Mexicans don't exist, they're erased from conversations like this. There are probably more Mexicans with African ancestry (Emiliano Zapata was one of them), as at one point from the 1600s-1800s, Mexico was bringing in more enslaved people than any other part of the Americas. Mad love to shorty for covering this joint; I love it.

Selena was just so gifted, it’s sad that she’s not here 😢. The whole group are legends period. Why couldn’t she have lived longer? Rest In Peace to the beautiful Selena

This is one of my favorite songs from Ralph! I didn’t know she did a cover!! And this version of the song is amazing! Long live the queen of hearts.
