The gamble on The Illiad was solely due to his owner Noel Furlong. He'd won between £1m and £2m on his other horse Destriero winning the Supreme Novices Hurdle earlier in the day. He'd also got doubles running on that horse and The Illiad which caused the bookies to panic. Black Humour is one of those rare horses to run in the Champion Hurdle, Gold Cup and Grand National. Less notably he fell in all three!

i was on nomadic way £60 on the nose which was a big bet in 91.i really thought it was a shu-in but wasnt to be but i did have a saver on morley street(10er) which almost led me to break even.

Little Nomadic Way .What a Gallant runner up. Runner up Twice in Champion Hurdles. At least he went on to Win the Stayers Crown soon after..Morley Street was a wonderful Hurdler. In my Top 10 of all time.
