The best era of monster trucks, mud racing and everything else that goes along with these shows.

One of the greatest things about monster trucks is how every driver/team always helps the other guy fix his truck & be ready to race because they understand the competition is what brings the fans in & they want to beat them on the track... I don't think Scott got the memo.

I know things change but I wish they still ran U-turn courses at Monster Jam in Houston.
@unidentifiedbeing72425 жыл бұрын
No I agree with you. The changes to Monster Jam have been absolutely rediculous. The tracks have very little open space and there is no focus on destruction. It's like Batman one day changing to a costume that doesn't make him look a like a bat anymore and doesn't provide any stealth. What monster trucks are all about at its minimal core have been almost completely gutted, and its been done in a way that doesn't allow the drivers to function efficiently.

Pretty sure Todd Blaeser, not Fred Shafer was driving Bear Foot here. Fred had already debuted his 4-link truck by this point.

I think Todd Blaeser was driving here also.

Did Brass throw the rear driveshaft on the last jump of the finals? The video cuts out upon landing with each shot and it looks like something is coming loose upon landing.
@Arctic_Falcon6 жыл бұрын
Looks like it might have. You can see sparks too. The truck suffered pretty severe damage the day before in that area, so it was probably not 100% during this event.

Fr. Schafer had all the power but could never control it. He always ended up dq'd and in someone's lane.

Fred wasn't driving this Bearfoot truck in 91. Todd Blaeser was driving here

None of these guys were even close to Bigfoot 8 yet, which was already almost 2 years old in 1991. They're all bouncing around and theres Bigfoot with 2 1/2 feet of suspension travel!

Wow, another rare treat. Thanks for posting! I posted a comment on the other video (day #2) about how I thought this might have taken place in late 1990 -- I believe this was February 1991. There are TNT banners, so this was one of the first USHRA-sanctioned TNT events. Years ago someone uploaded a few minutes of the 1990 USHRA Astrodome event (with Taurus & Bear Foot in the finals), but there were two days of action in December 1990. Any idea if the other one was broadcast? Also, was there another USHRA Astrodome event in December of 1991 (they traditionally happened in December, I think)?
@Arctic_Falcon8 жыл бұрын
Also, I think this might actually be day #2 because the crush cars are the same as the other day, except they are crushed from the beginning here; and BIGFOOT has body damage that probably occurred during the day before.
@buphelow8 жыл бұрын
I thought I got the days mixed up. I've got the separate Bearfoot/Taurus finals event from 1990 (late) as well and I'll post. The dates are all sketchy from around this time so it is hard to tell. Most of the researchers have told me this was probably the TNT Supernationals event date from February '91, which probably would make Bearfoot, Blaeser driven.

Mid Feb. 1991 I believe. I have the exact date somewhere.

think so. You know it would be easier if USHRA kept archives of their schedules throughout the 20th century and then the date would be found. Know if there is any at all?

Sorry for the late comment, it could’ve been his brother. Word on the street is his brother drove the 2nd truck while Dennis was building the 3rd around this time.
