This was a HUGE win for Dallas at the time. They hadn't won a non-strike home game vs. Philly since 1985 (they won vs. them in 1987, but that was a strike/scab game)

This was the 1st 100 yard game that the Eagles gave up in a long time and it was Emmitt's first 100 yard game against the Eagles. Lin Elliott did everything to give this game away and that no touchdown at 10:40 was a clear touchdown but no replay was available since they got rid of it that year.

Lin Elliot made career out of trying to give games away. Poor guy had serious confidence issues.
@redmustangredmustang2 жыл бұрын
@@jaylucien669 he literally lost the game against the Chiefs in the 95 divisional game. Thankfully Jimmy Johnson cut him the after the Bills game where Lin missed two close field goals.

What's with the sound???? It's coming out all garbled on my Android phone but yet is OK on the iPad Mini 4.
@classicsports50572 жыл бұрын
I believe the audio is in mono. I'm considering redoing all the 1992 Cowboys games anyway and maybe finding versions with better video and audio if possible partially because I'm running low on 90s Cowboys games anyway.

In my opinion Jerry Jones has made two big mistakes number one is when he lost Jimmy Johnson they could have won five or six Super Bowls number two is when he hired Barry Switzer that was the downfall of a great team
@jaylucien6692 жыл бұрын
Agree with you on most of that. If Jerry doesn't screw things up and fires Jimmy, Jimmy only sticks around for another season or two tops. He probably bails after the 3-peat in '94. Now if that happens, does Switzer end up replacing him then? Probably not. There's a good chance Butch Davis succeeds Jimmy in that scenario and that would've been perfectly fine by me. They most likely win one with Butch bringing the total to 4. 5 is defiantly a possibility, but 6 isn't likely. Don't forget it took Jerry about 10 years to learn how to work the salary cap. Something he still hasn't mastered to this day.

Switzer wasn’t the true downfall of the Cowboys, true he wasn’t as disciplined as Jimmy Johnson, but he did the best of what he could do in his 4 years there. It also doesn’t help that Jerry Jones couldn’t draft for shit after he fired Johnson.
@rshelley7496 Жыл бұрын
I would also add letting Ken Norton Jr. get away and to the 49ers of all teams who were also signing Deon Sanders, Richard Dent, Ricky Jackson, Toi Cook, among others and somehow were able to stack a super team w out violating the salary cap..🤔🙄...along w the loss of many other key players..Casilias, Everett, Jimmy Jones, K Mart etc...just so much went south after the 93 season or yes it could have been a more epic dynasty
@rshelley7496 Жыл бұрын
@@justinturley7071 agree.. I always thought Switzer was put in a no-win situation, if he did Super Bowls it was with a team that was built by Jimmy, and if he didn't it was like he wasn't even good enough to win a Super Bow with a loaded team so he was basically in a bad position in that aspect...the main reason was they kept losing good and a few great players to free agency and the Niners somehow signed a bunch all pro or former all pro or good defensive players that year at once..still wonderin how they didn't go over the cap..???

Jimmy Johnson wasn’t the difference maker. The Minnesota trade and San Francisco gifting them Charles Haley was. They easily could’ve won four in a row. They were robbed in San Francisco. Then Switzer would’ve had two as well. Jimmy was irrelevant with the Miami Dolphins. In four years there he never won the AFC East, he missed the playoffs in 1996, Dallas beat him two times and his three playoff losses with the Dolphins ended in 17-3, 38-3 and 62-7. Give it a rest about Jimmy Johnson.

With the score tied at 10-10... Emmitt... Momentum shifter... 11:52 And again 13:55 what a run!
@VanillaLimeCoke2 жыл бұрын
I think I remember this game and even exact moment of 11:52 As soon as Smith crossed his own 20 my uncle and dad were groaning like they knew where this was going. Dallas was going to come back and win. I also believe this is the game where my uncle was pointing at this Eagles player they showed just sitting on the bench all dispodent saying, “they really need to get rid of him…..all he does is sit around playing video games” or something to that effect. But I’m not sure. Maybe it was another alternative dimension or nelson Mandela effect.

another reason these jimmy johnson teams were the best ever..they played in the division of the super bowl champs giants and redskins and this sycho buddys eagles defense...playin them 2wice a year..period. look at other dynasties and year in year out those divisions were all weak.
@TheDeadlyYearsАй бұрын
Haha! Your grandmother could’ve coached this roster. Give it a break. The Minnesota trade and San Francisco gifting them Charles Haley is what made them. Had nothing to do with the division. Jimmy Johnson was irrelevant with the Dolphins.
