19:30 He just barely passed this section with like a spare micro second, even when he abused the Special Attack to defeat the bosses faster.

That's Jagi from Hokuto no Ken lol

Holy crap, that boss is LITERALLY Jagi at 7:44. The outright plagiarism of well-known properties old games got away with is funny as hell. They couldn't even copy some no-name goon, it had to be one of the freaking Hokuto brothers.

This didn't even bother to alter his appearance a bit to make the plagiarism a little less obvious.

If you look closely at his death animation at 9:31 he even Explodes like if he were killed with Hokuto Shinken (Low the video speed to see it even clearer). It is obvious that in those times plagiarism was consider something normal and funny, even an homage.

haha, fastest story set-up ever - also weird that you get slightly hurt everytime you land that spinning punch thing.

its a pretty common mechanic at beat em ups but having 2 options of those attacks isn't that common
@Asterion6087 жыл бұрын
It's called 360º attack, two button attack(because almost always was performed by pressing Attack+Jump at the same time) or simply Special attack. Almost every BeatemUp haves it, it hits in all directions and grants you a moment of invulnerability. Obviously such overpowered attack needs to be limited someway, the most common way was to make the attack Drain a bit of your health everytime you use it, or everytime the attack hits an enemy. In fact it was the only way used until Street of Rage 3, that included a Power meter to allows you tu use you 360º attack without cost, but it takes some time to recharge.

It’s commonly referred to as a “Mega Crash”. A few games have a more power version that does massive damage at the expense of a larger portion of health.
