1992 Atlantic Hurricane Season V3

The 1992 Atlantic Hurricane Season was a below-average hurricane season for the Atlantic basin however, this season is one of the best examples of the commonly used phrase "It only takes one" as 1992 included the devastating Category 5 Hurricane Andrew. Along with that, the season also included several out to sea storms including Category 3 hurricanes Bonnie and Charley (F13 Analysis), Tropical Storm Danielle which made landfall on the US East coast, and prior to Andrew, Tropical Depression 01L which caused significant rainfall in Florida.

Ok I'm gonna tell you guys a story. So basically back in 1992. Where one of my oldest cousins in my family were in Miami at the time. During hurricane Andrew they lived in a Miami apartment. Despite 160+ mph winds in their vicinity. They still managed to survive the strongest Storm surges and winds. On the other hand their apartment was ruined. Their living area was destroyed down on the ground. Then a while after hurricane Andrew passed. They then moved to Orlando where my parents in that timeframe just arrived back in 2000. After my parents arrived in Florida they then began to create me and raise me in Orlando Florida.

Causes major damage in Texas - Retired Andrew 1986: Did nothing Andrew 1992: Florida isn't a thing anymore, costliest storm ever recorded, a record it would hold for 13 years - Retired Alex 1998: Did nothing Alex 2004: Was rather interesting because it became a category 3 very far north Alex 2010: A major hurricane in June (according to everyone but the NHC), which is extremely rare, probably the best looking Atlantic hurricane in June Alex 2016: Formed in January and intensified into a hurricane, becoming the strongest off-season storm ever recorded in the satelite era

Fun fact: The NHC building took a direct hit from Andrew. During the pre-dawn hours of August 24, the eyewall came ashore. However, the forecasters were oblivious to what was happening outside (I would not be able to keep my calm if I was in what was thought to be a cat 4, now confirmed to have been a cat 5). They still managed to get out the 5am advisory. Just after that, the building started to sway and a wind gust of 164 mph was clocked prior to the instrument getting destroyed. Then, the building shook when the radar on top of the building was destroyed. However, the center did not receive structural damage (Thank god) and everyone was ok. Many forecasters there lost their cars and had major damage to their home, and 7 forecasters had their home completely destroyed by the hurricane. I still don't get why you have the NHC centered in Miami, why not have it at a less hurricane-prone location? Same applies for why you have the JTWC in Pearl Harbor or the SPC in Norman, OK
