Here we have a beautiful 1992 Data East Hook pinball machine in action for your viewing pleasure.
This machine seems to be fairly popular and somewhat iconic for the era. Sporting the early DE small dot matrix display, it's a bit of an anomaly, but they do a good job with the dots and animations. The game is fun enough with some cool shots and really excellent lighting effects and callouts. The movie was a bit of a stinker but the machine is really well done. The artwork is among Data East's best, even though they couldn't use Robin Williams' likeness for legal reasons (he probably just didn't want his face on it).
Anyway, this machine was designed by Tim Seckel with art by the great Paul Faris. For more information on Hook, see here: www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1233
