You did the right thing, I'm Tesla tech and drive 1994 W124 e420 and love it and love every second driving it, i got it with 100k miles now 275k miles, still running well but I'm going to rebuild it from A to Z very soon before something seriously go wrong with it!

Great Project. Did you know the radiator air bleed elbow is available as a separate part? I am running a 500E and love it !

Yes I had found that out later. I'm hoping I'm able to get it out without small pieces breaking off inside the radiator 😧

put a 5 litre in it, but remember the m119 had 3 different fuel injection systems over the years so you need to get the right type of motor for the cars fi system

I'm just replacing the engine that's in it. The 4.2 liter. I'm using the same fuel injection system that both engines came with.

+1. .. The Mercedes W124 series is the worlds most perfect sedan, , , , or Coupe. .. Best of luck with the project. . Question? .. Did the 400 E / E420 cars receive uprated brakes just as the 500 E / E500 V8 models did? .. The brakes in my '94 E320 Coupe are supposedly uprated from earlier W124 Coupes. .. Cheers,

As far as I know the brakes on the 400E are the largest available on the W124. I do not know if the 500E brakes were bigger.

@@FriendlyMBTech i have a 93 400E she runs great. But, once she get hot not over heated. She want start until it cools down and setting for about an hour. What could be the issue? Love that car..

@Bobby Valentino it could be several different things. Have you checked for codes? Also, does your AC work? Is the car dying while running or after you turn it off it won't start when you come back to it? The fuel runs though a fuel cooler that's cooled by the AC refrigerant. If the fuel is overheating it could be vapor lock, which makes sense if it starts after cooling down.

@@FriendlyMBTech haven’t check the codes. The ac doesn’t work. It just started happening and the ac haven’t work for some time. The vapor lock is just how it acts. Thanks, I will check the codes. It happened before but it had bad distributor cap and points replaced all. problems was solved.

Wagner is appropriate. Only 102K and needs an engine? wOW. mY cd player quit, let me know if you know who can work on it. Will check the channel to see what it took to R&R the engine.

Yeah it had a blown head gasket. I know you can send the head unit in to Backer and they can rebuild it and add bluetooth capability but I don't know anyone that repairs the CD player. I'd try to find an eBay replacement first.
