1992 Playoffs: Detroit Red Wings Goals

All 29 Goals by the Detroit Red Wings from the 1992 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
1992 was the 2nd year of the playoff streak, and the first of many dominant Regular Seasons to come. The '92 Wings finished with 98 points, a 22 point improvement from the previous year, good for 2nd in the NHL and 1st in the Conference. A big factor in the massive point jump was the additions of Ray Sheppard and rookies Nicklas Lidstrom and Vladimir Konstantinov.
In Round 1 they faced off against the Minnesota North Stars. The North Stars had made it all the way to the Cup Final the year before, despite only having 68 points during the season. In '92, they finished with only 70 points, and it appeared that they were on the verge of potentially repeating history when they took a 3-1 series lead. However, the Wings would go on to win the final 3 games and take the series.
In Round 2 they were swept by Chris Chelios and the Chicago Blackhawks, who would eventually go onto the Stanley Cup Final.

- Round 1 vs Minnesota is the only time during the playoff streak that the Wings have won a series after trailing 3-1.
- Fedorov's OT winner marked the first time in NHL history that an Overtime Goal in the Playoffs was decided by video review.
- Probert was credited with the 4th goal in Game 7, but as seen on the overhead replay, he never actually touched the puck and the goal should've been given to Carson.
- This was the last playoff series the North Stars played in before moving to Dallas.

Ray Sheppard had his best years here in Detroit w the Wings. Had 52 goal, 90 plus point season one year. They traded him for Igor Larionov and he never produced anywhere close to his he did in Detroit. Loved it when he was here though. If they had a good goalie in early 90s they would have won a cup sooner.
