The previous owner really took care if this thing, treat it well man, that’s a gem of a truck.

There should be a nut behind the carpet to mount the seat. You'll need 8, 10, 12, 14, 17, 19 and 21 mm's to take the entire truck apart.

Awesome! My Toyota Truck turns 25 years old in Oct. 2019. "This Truck Needs some serious shit" like my Buddy Doc Brown would say. Great video looking forward to seeing the rest and thanks for sharing your "Jewel Of The Nile."

Hey Travis, I have an 89 Toyota Pickup and I too was having an issue with my truck not starting sometimes when it was warm. I found the issue was that the previous owner had an aftermarket non-Toyota starter installed and for whatever reason it gave my truck a lot of problems. I would have strong healthy starts in the morning and then after driving around a little I would go to start it and nothing. It was like the battery was completely dead. There was no turnover, just a single click. After troubleshooting a few other things like battery, alternator and battery charging system I found the only thing left was the starter. I also found this out because if I lightly tapped on it when it wouldn’t start or let the truck roll backwards a little, it would allow the starter to realign and it would then start sometimes. After installing a new Toyota factory starter, I have not had the problem since. Anyways, hope this might help if you haven’t already fixed the problem. Cheers!

Great video! I just bought a stock '93 version of the same truck w/out AC, I had my bench seat reupholstered (looks real nice) by a guy in Salem. Mine is the same color, same (lack of) options. These 'Yota 4x4s are getting hard to find too!

The rubber caps in the corners under the carpet are for access to the body mount bolts :)

I'm not sure if you know this already but it looks like the windshield reservoir pump that you found under the seat.

Hey there youtube, Travis here so today we're gonna go ahead and start takin a look here makin a list of alll the things, that are needed to be done on my new to me 1992 Toyota pickup truck. So first thing that comes to mind us is gonna be that nice bench seat. So let's go ahead, see what we have here. [fucks with lock] Let's check out the condition of that. And we also have the bumber here let's go ahead and get this outta the back. Currently filming this mid slide here we can see the previous owner went ahead and left me some goodies. For the diff or maybe the transmission, for a fluid change. Got another mystery box back here This seats not lookin terrible it's kinda stained but, nothin that couldn't be cleaned up let's go ahead and get it all the way out. K i will say i'm in the back here. I really like the multiple points for tow hooks right there [points camera at truck]. a we got some in the rear. This is the box again it's just got the blocks for the rear lift but these are some nice leafs for the leaf springs! So that could be an option, goin forward here obviously this would be preferrable to some blocks and we could also get some increased payload out of it too. We also have the factory bumper which, you know, the previous owner said after he put the class three hitch on the bumper wouldn't they just didn't put it on I have a feeling there's gonna be some fitment issues but we can go ahead and dive into that the bumper like the rest of the truck is relatively rust free it's got these nice grips here to step on. So it's a 350 lbs tongue load maximum for the trailer weight?

Bench is much better. Not sure why they thought crappy buckets would be better.

Hey Travis I just made a checklist myself however I’m debating one of my maintenance portion. Would you recommend the transmission fluid getting changed? Did you change your when you bought yours? I bought mine with 157k miles automatic transmission and I checked it. It’s brown.
@TravisTutorial Жыл бұрын
That is actually a huge debate. Some people think that changing the fluid on a neglected transmission will cause it to slip and wear out faster...other people, and this is me in included, think it's better to do the maintance. If it were me, I'd so a simple drain & fill (+ filter if it has it) with the automatic transmission, not a pressurized transmission flush.

Have you ever noticed water getting into the interior carpet area?
@TravisTutorial3 жыл бұрын
I had that issue in my white 4runner - there is a drain under the carpet to get standing water out and then you'll need to find out where that water is leaking in from. There is a seal somewhere that is letting water in.

Anyone know if that graphic was unique to only the 92's?
@mhayes221673 ай бұрын
Each year from 89-95 had different graphics/stripes. One of the easier ways to to tell which year, also the grille changed, 89-91 was Toyota letters in grille an 92-95 had emblem 😎
