Back in ‘84 I built a wood mizer-like hydraulic mill to cut 42” wide then extended it to 72”. Up side is I can still use it mobile. Simplest mill to extend.

How does the 20hp electric compare to 26hp gas engine? I have a 20hp Onan on an '87 LT40 that's underpowered and an electric conversion might be an option. What power source are you using to run the DC drive motors on the mill?

They say 20hp electric is like 40hp gas / diesel. I agree, its for sure far more power then the 26hp gas motor that was on it. You have 100% torque so funny enough it's pine / spruce / hemlock where it shines as it does not have the RPM drop when going from soft wood to hard knots. I'm using at 120volt to 12volt 55amp RV converter off Amazon, works great!
