The late Michael zaslow was a very fine actor he took his role of Rodger Thorpe for many years on The Guiding Light he certainly did do very well with that role that was that was his way of doing it and he did a great job he's will be greatly missed left I never even knew that he was sick God bless them God Rest Your Soul Michael zaslow

Scene almost ruined by Robot Ross. Would have loved to have JVD in this scene.

Yes, but at that time he was battling Prostate Cancer which couldn't have been easy. This scene was pivotal because Ed realized once again that Holly's Feelings for Roger never went away and never could and no matter how much he put up with because of her trying to help her etc, it wasn't enough.

Jerry ver Dorn was ill at this time so the actor was a substitute.

@@jjh2456 Yes, he was battling Prostate Cancer at the time. On the UK Soap Opera Hollyoaks 1995-Present, Nick Pickard who plays Tony did a Storyline where his character had Prostate Cancer. I told UK Soap Fans about Jerry Ver Dorn as well as what they did to Michael Zaslow. They were enraged.

As hard as he tried, Substitute Ross wasn't as good as Jerry Ver Dorn. The Actor could have come back as an Executive for Spaulding or something like that.

A similar situation happened on the UK Soap Opera Eastenders. Daniella Westbrook played Samantha Mitchell #1 who at one point was the biggest Teen Soap Actress in England yet when she left Kim Medcalfe played a more "mature" Samantha and as hard as she tried she didn't have the "goods" the way Daniella had. Sadly enough she went through alot. Being raped, Drug Addiction, now suffering from Osteoperosis, and now allegedly having cancer.

Another Bad Recast was the Man who played Justin Marler on Guiding Light when Phillip & Beth got married. Sadly afterwards, Phillip had no contact with either him or even his Sister Samantha.

You know who would have been a major enemy for Roger Thorpe, Dennis Watts aka "Dirty Den" on The UK Soap Opera EastEnders. He along with his Wife Angie owned The Neighborhood Pub The Queen Vic where fights, threats, and arguments took place. Sadly enough Leslie Grantham who played him also fell on hard times to the point he became Homeless for awhile. He was such a snake he seduced his Son's Teenage Girlfriend, got his Daughter's Best Friend Pregnant also a Teenager, even had the audacity to call a Black Man "Boy."
