God I love 90s cars man. They're the best! Waaaay better than today's monstrosities
@HelloKittyFanMan.3 жыл бұрын
"Monstrosities"? Pschh, how do ya figure? Same reason you're stubbornly stuck in the 90s with music too? "My parents' generation 'took pride in their work'," as if we don't also today?

I hadn't realized Chrysler made MANUAL Caravans that late...wow...GREAT review! A relative had a 1984 Magic Wagon with the manual transmission...no idea about the later ones! Thanks! You made my day...!

The exterior reminds me of the one my grandma's neighbor had when I was a kid. Same color and wheel covers. Nice van!

Nice. A 5 speed on the floor in a minivan I assume was a very rare option. I grew up in the 90s and so I remember this generation dodge caravan and plymouth voyager very well. All the ones I've ever seen were automatics, with the column shifter.

I just recently discovered that these Dodge Caravans were available with manual transmissions. All the ones that I have ever been in were automatic transmissions. Had I knew that these existed I probably would have bought a used one for laughs and giggles.

Can't wait to get my (Mini) Ram Van fixed. I never wanted a manual trans in one of my minivans, but less trouble with this cockroach - reliable drivetrain i guess. Good to see your dad's vans driving behavior 👍🏻

I still have my 92 2.5l manual caravan still drive it. Red interior, parts are hard to find but it's still goes A to B and B to A no problem.

Could you kindly replace the chime in this 1993 Dodge Caravan with one from a 1988-94 Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis?

I had a Plymouth with the 5 speed. The shift lever was too short. I could never understand why it was designed that way. Should have been longer so you didn't have to reach down that far to shift.

I have a question if that thing had just the basic gauge packaging how do you make the oil pressure the voltage and attack work? Did you have to run new wires or was it just a plug it in kind of a deal?
@LAEXMA Жыл бұрын
This one is plug and play, no additional wiring needed.

nice van. I have a 1987 Chrysler Town & Country with a 2.5L engine. It's leaking a lot of oil out of the front of the engine. My best guess is the front crankshaft seal. Any suggestions?
@LAEXMA5 жыл бұрын
evilpeach2 It could be the valve cover gasket, oil pan, oil pan gasket, crank and/or cam seals, it’s really difficult to say for sure without seeing it first hand. There are dyes that you can buy to put in the engine to help track down leaks. How much oil is it losing?
@evilpeach25 жыл бұрын
@@LAEXMA It's a pretty steady drip when I'm idling. The problem seems to lessen when I actually drive the car for some reason. That might not be true. I am losing less oil than I thought. I replaced the oil pan gasket and the previous owner replaced the valve cover gasket. My mechanic said it was the crankshaft seal but wanted a lot of money to replace it so I said no thanks. Now I have an issue with the water bypass hose. The rubber tube connected to the metal tube in the back of the engine near the intake manifold just burst so I have coolant spraying onto the warm intake when the car warms up. I'm having trouble finding the metal tube in case I break the tube somehow trying to get the rubber ends off. Any good parts websites or is that gonna be a junkyard part? Thanks for your help!
@LAEXMA5 жыл бұрын
evilpeach2 I’d say that rockauto.com would be a good place to start, and junk yards tend to be a good place to look. If it were me I might power wash the engine and oil pan areas to clean off all of that old oil, that might give you an idea of where the leak is for sure. If it is the crank seal then you might as well replace the timing belt while you’re there. It isn’t that major of a job on the 2.2/2.5, but mechanics will charge you an arm and a leg for it.

Shea Mileto No, I do not have any brochures for them, but I do have it’s owners manual. It has some surface rust, but I think underneath is rust free. My dad actually just bought it about 3 months ago.

Early 90s cheesy Chrysler charm-in a (mini)-van-Chrysler all but perfected cheesy charm around this time-a kind of plastic voodoo-wrapped in faux nostalgia.
