One of my favorite compositions by Gordon. What a treasure,we have had the pleasure to hear. I met this beautiful young teen when I myself at 15 was setup on a date say 1970 . I was really into music so I asked favorite musicians? Gordon Lightfoot was the answer and there the journey began.

Gordon may have been Canadian by birth, but he’s a Michigander by honor. We love Mr. lightfoot and he’s a vital part to Michigan culture. Rest easy, Gordon

I am a lifelong michigander and he has been an essential element at our hunting cabin since the 70s.

The line “Just Like an old Time Movie” from his song “ If You Could Read My Mind” ( like a ghost from a wishing well) probably came to Gordon’s mind from the 1946 movie “The Times of their Lives” with Abbot and Costello ??

They should make a biopic with Bryan Cranston playing an older Gordon and Chris Pratt playing a younger Gordon.
@ElChupacabra77B11 ай бұрын
Chris Pratt: younger Gordon (1958-1980), Bryan Cranston: middle-aged Gordon (1981-1993), Bill Nighy: older elderly Gordon (1994-2018).

She was a dizzy thing, while our guy didn't realize there are a dozen keys. Maybe thought using a capo would eliminate the harder ones. All told, interesting + too brief.

Most of those folk songs are written in half a dozen and singers tend to favour those that suit their voice. I prefer G or Dmaj.
@maryp6004 Жыл бұрын
I think he knew that there are a dozen keys: he went to music school! I heard him say once in an interview that there were about five keys that worked well for his kind of music.
