What a fantastic time for racing. That grid is a feast for the eyes, I am specially amazed that Group C prototypes shared the track with Civics. The early 90s adverts seal the deal for me. Comfy video, cheers! :^)

1993 was the end for Group C, the grid here is a total mess. Look at JSPC videos from 1988 to 1991, that was golden.
It's like there's literally no regulations, there's ex-Group C prototype racers V open-top endurance cars V ex-Group A & (what looks like) lightly modified road cars with no aero V American IMSA/NASCAR V8s (I can't really tell)

That's what happens at the dawn of a new era. The long lasting formula of group C was dead, but you needed these spectacular cars to attract any crowd. Then there is this new thing called GT racing aiming for acceptance from both paticipants and spectators (not that easy when they are used to spectacular Group C machinery). But even combinded it does not make enough for a good starting grid. So what do you do? Open the race up for nearly everything and see which concept you should go for in the future. Apparantly, GT was the way to go.
