1993 Nissan D21 Hard Body Fuel Injectors and Rail

Myles Davis hi my injectors if I grab one of them I can move it side to side . I don't see fuel coming out just movement if I move it . I started having a miss after I fix the brakes . I was testing my brakes and stoping my truck on a nose dive . I am thinking it might of shook the dirty in the carburetor loose so now I'm thinking that one of the injectors might be dirty or the carburetor but there is a valve on the fuel rail and the vacuum runs to it that vacuum line was kind of worn out I replaced it but I'm driving and it feels like it's sluggish not sure if it's caused by the carburetor or fuel injector I did run some fuel injector cleaner I have not given the truck too far yet if you give it gas while you're parked it runs fine but when you're driving it to me sometimes it feels like it's luggage I think I might have chicken up some old dirty fuel in the carburetor but my injector you can move it side to side and I sprayed some carburetor cleaner over the fuel rail thinking it might suck in the carburetor cleaner and make the truck turn off to find a leak and never did that some people are telling me that it's OK to for it to move side to side if I grab it but I'm not too sure should I replace them all it is a 1993 Nissan he has 191,000 original

I have the same truck I bought brand new in 93. It has 124k original miles on it and having the same issues. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the update, I have a 93 non hardbody, rock auto has new and rebuilt ones not very expensive , I am going to replace all and sell my pickup

@ 2:37 that is a fuel pressure regulator.... it has a tendency to becoming clogged over time and may need replacement. (from what I have learned)

What was the truck doing before you changed it? Was it losing power? Or just wouldn't start?

We know you said running on 2 cyl. What . was. It . doing. .??? specifically.??? thanks. Good video Mine: 1993 4 cyl 4x4 KC 1st owner. Running sluggish on accelleration and will not pass smog. Running rich. I've replaced TPS switch, the air mass sensor. Spark plugs with cap and rotor with air filter. Someone told me vacuum leak. Im hoping its an injector. Much easier to replace than an intake gasket. Lol. I get the same offer. With notes 'Want to Buy' Told them no less than $4000. Trans with Case alone is a $1000 235k miles before speedo cable broke. Btw. Dealsrship cant even get parts for the Hardbody anymore. And Rock Auto is limited. Sad. These are Good Trucks

What tools did you need to pull the rail assy. I need to do this i got a dead hole and it's not ignition side

TBH, can't remember, but I believe all you need is a 13mm, screwdriver for hose clamps and maybe some needle-nose pliers.

And possibly a 12mm and/or 14mm socket driver and wrench

So did changing the 2 fuel injectors fix the problem?

Yes, It did. I installed 2 brand new injectors and it ran perfectly after that.

My injector base is a little oil, it misses a little and i get code 51 injector circuit

Question. The injector. I have you can move it side to side will this cause a vacuum leak ? My truck was missing and I could not find the issue but on the vacuum on the value was eaten alway I cut it and put it back on well my truck ran fine again . My truck was missing so I don't know if the Holes had a vacuum Leak .

Not sure what you're saying, but none of this injector rail I talk about on this video have vacuum. It's all fuel pressure.

Ok the one of my injector on my truck I can grab it and move the injector side to side is this normal? Also the vacuum line that runs to the fuel rail that vacuum line was wore out i cut the vacuum line and place it back to the fuel rail and my truck ran fine . It was missing . But not any more. I wanted to kind if it’s normal to be able to move the injector side to side ?

@@ram457moreno If it's the same D21, then no side to side play in an injector on this is definitely not normal. Is the injector worn our or the rail housing? You can buy new injectors for about $40-$50 each from rock auto. Good luck
