@@royjames1742 My truck has an 850 CCA battery also. That isn't the problem. What likely happened is that they bought a battery with the Postive and Negative battery posts on opposite sides, and that caused them to connect the battery backward. If you have fusible links, it blew them out: www.infamousnissan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35558 If the fusible link to the ECU is blown out, the ECU will not get any power from the battery. If some idiot removed the fusible links from your truck in the past because they didn't know what they were for, then connecting the battery backward would result in the ECU getting fried and likely the injectors blowing out, too. Thank you for the great video. I unfortunately could not get it to work on my 94 D21. The two lights come on when the key is switched to the on position but it never goes into diagnostic mode when I turn the dial. Any ideas? Apologies for missing this, Ryan. It sounds like your ECU is bad. Some people have opened the ECU to find parts that were burned inside and fixed those, but I suspect they were pretty skilled at electronics already. Otherwise, there isn't much you can do but replace it. If there are no other issues with the ECU, I would just ignore reading the codes.

On my computer, while I start the truck, both LEDs (red and green) go out and the truck is not starting either. Then with the key on the two LEDs turn on again and I can even get the codes, but if I turn the ignition on again, the two LEDs turn off again. Does this mean that the computer is failing? Or will it be normal for the LEDs to turn off while it is sitting? Greetings.

+jp2code how much is it to replace that device? if the error code is 55 which is no malfunction, and yet I have a check engine line on, then it would seem that the box is defective what else could it be? at least that is the conclusion of the mechanic. and I hear these parts can't be found except in a junk yard.
@jp2code9 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Manahan The ECM detects problems with sensors and such that it needs to operate. The Check Engine Light (CEL), on the other hand, seems to be there to ensure your truck's emissions are good (which yours are not). See this pic out of the service manual: i.imgur.com/NBfxzi0.png
@danielmanahan6929 жыл бұрын
+jp2code so I don't understand. are you agreeing or disagreeing with the mechanic's opinion that the computer is bad? if it reads error code 55 which is no malfunction and the check engine light on the dashboard is lit when the car is running, what else could that mean? why would the computer not give an error code when the check engine light is on? I can't smog this because of the check engine light being on. it must be off. and yet there might not be any problem with the engine, just the computer, if I understand. the emissions problems are another thing, separate issue or else a code should show up.
@jp2code9 жыл бұрын
+Daniel Manahan Sorry this took me so long. I don't have a smart phone, and I was out at work. I'm saying a faulty O2 sensor is what causes the CEL to turn on. It is emissions related. There is nothing wrong with your ECU.
