Finally got the motor/transmission/transfer case out of the cruiser. Got them all pulled apart and the motor on a stand. Wasn't too bad honestly, just takes time.

Dear friend- I am an elderly old geezer from South-Africa, passionate about the LC 80 series ( 1996), bought mine second hand 6 years ago, ODO now standing at 530k km on the clock, but with non major breakdowns since I had it. However, just recently I experienced a bad misfire from the engine-subsequently I changed the plugs and plug wires, in order to eliminate the problem. Misfiring continued- I then took it to our local Toyota accredited workshop for an engine diagnostics witch included a compression test of all the cylinders- it was found that my 4 & 5th cylinders had no compression, but all other cylinders sill within acceptable specs. As a result, I was quoted the service/refurbishment of the cylinder head cylinder head- but at an enormous price! Most of it related to the removal/re installation of the engine . Watching your video ( 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80 Rebuild - Engine Removal) I noticed that you have totally removed the front cab fenders on both sides, in order to expose the entire engine and all of its components? I am considering doing the same, in order to get workable access to the engine compartment, remove the cylinder head myself, and then send this to an accredited workshop for the needed service. However-my question is ?- instead of going the traditional way by removing the entire engine through the hood with a hydraulic lift- could the method by removing the front cab fenders, grill etc be practically performed, without damaging any structural components on the vehicles frame/bodywork? Do you maybe have a video available when you have been removing these body components in order to get to the bare engine compartment? I would sincerely appreciate your comments/advice from you, as well as any other of your followers regarding this! My SA email address is ben@agripark.co.za- should anyone like to contact me directly regarding this matter. Many thanks for your most valuable sharing of very interesting video material! Best regards to you all- Ben Burger, South-Africa.

Oh man. Love it when you get to remove the entire drivetrain. Gives you such a great opportunity to get in there and clean up years of grime.
