1993 Toyota T100: Power Steering Pump Rebuild

This is my attempt to fix the seals of my Toyota T100’s power steering pump. Everything went successfully and leaking stopped. People watching attempting this process, try at your own risk.

The torque spec for the Pressure Hose Port at 28:18 is 51 ft-lbs. I have the official manual from Toyota. So if anyone wants the torque specs for every bolt on this pump, let me know.

Could you post all the torque specs for the PS pump bolts? About to rebuild this

@screenname88 These are all for the 3VZ 4x4 model. The vacuum control valve is 27 ft lbs. There's 3 bolts on the reservoir, The side two are 30 ft lbs and the front one is 9 ft lbs. The pressure hose port is 51 ft lbs. Those are all the bolts on the pump itself. For reinstall, the adjust stay bolts are 30 ft lbs. The long bolt that attaches to the engine is 43 ft lbs. The banjo bolt for the pressure hose is 34 ft lbs. And the nut for the pulley flywheel is 32 ft lbs. Good luck man!

No ball bearings, just the fan vanes

Thanks for the support! Some older 4Runners have the same steering pump as my t100 with the 3VZE Engine. The extra o ring is for pumps that have a sensor attached to the pump, mine didn’t have that option

If yours has a sensor then you’ll probably need to use that last O ring to replace the old one on the sensor to make a proper seal since many with the sensor leak from there

Yes, if the battery is in the way of working on the power steering pump, then you can take the battery out for more work space

No leaks so far and steering fluid is maintaining its level. Before I would fill it up every time I drove somewhere pretty far

@@at-28knight45 thats awesome man. I almost redid my hoses but after watching this video pretty sure my pump is seeping. Never made any weird noises. Going to rebuild it soon and then do the hoses after but i want to see if the leaks stop after rebuild. Got the kit from gates. Thanks for the video will be alot easier to do now
