What a blast from the past. Many decades before I went and became a serious railfan, and still many years before I was even born. Always glad somebody would record what was at the time mundane.

These videos are absolutely perfect for a history person like myself who misses the 1980s and 1990s railroading

Nice, good to see more footage of the wigwag. Interesting they added a bell on top of the wigwag mast when these Magnetic Signal Company wigwags have one built into the mechanism, and listening closely just before the crossing stops, it sounds like both were working.

4:18 That's raining about as hard as it was when I shot the CN local heading north from Wisconsin Rapids at the end of September this year. I parked with the back of my vehicle facing the crossing and raised the liftgate, then set up my tripod under it with two of the legs shortened and propped on the rear bumper; and wedged myself into the cargo space to take the photos.

Excellent video! Its a real shame the wig wag is long gone here. It's so weird how now the BNSF and NS crossings are like jointly owned now.
