Nice mustang and video! I was thinking of doing this to a 98 GT coupe. I found out that u can just cut the top coil of spring and then reuse. Car will actually drop more over time and looks mean too.

So many era's in this video. Front springs should cover 1 of the 2 holes in the control arm. Back springs should be clocked to face the drivers side. Some components shouldn't be tightened until there is weight on the car. Just throwing it out there to help the next guy. There is more to it than taking it apart, and slapping it back together. Do your research.Having said that, nice work. :)

Blah you dont have to lower the car to tighten the rear shocks. You can use a jack. The boot pigtail should be a the 6 oclock position point towards the left on both sides

Something that is not mentioned in most videos is that you have to disconnect both sides in the rear at the same time to get the wiggle room to remove the springs; i didn't for the first spring and had to use spring compressors.

It didn't have the rear sway bar on it. And from what I read, V6's didn't come with the rear sway bars. And it most definitely sounds like a V6 at the end of the video. Sounds nice BTW

Nice but when go with lowering springs you need caster camber plates and something else I can’t think of right now but it’s to due with wheel alignment.

He seems to have only replaced springs. You should do cast camber plates when lowering as well as stronger struts and shocks to support that wear. Also bumpsteer for the now low front end. You dont want the road to steer the car, you want full control over it. Bumpsteer bushings for the rack or bumpsteer outer tie rods

Good Job! I noticed that power steering hoses/lines leak?? Mine 2004/ 3.8 litre having same problem, seems, like usual thing in these Mustangs! Where is the leak usual?? I believe towards the driver's side. Just did mine and they were all (even the passenger side) facing towards the drivers side.

Yup pointing at the driver side. The pigtail end should at the six oclock of the control arm if you are standing behind the car

Yes, springs in the back the pigtails face towards the passenger side, the fronts have grooves set in them on the lower control arms so you can't get them wrong.

Don't cut more than 1.5 coils off springs of your fox body or sn95. I usually cut off 1 coil for the front, & 1.5 for the rear(some cut 2 off). The way I do it looks tough & will drop lower over time. And replace camber plates!

Not a cobra? Don't think it was a GT either. Just a soccer with a cobra bumper . The V6 power steering pumps whine like that.

@@rogeliosoto6953.. Yup, those Ford power steering pumps really whine. My niece had one.. I changed out the fluid and replaced with half and half Mercon V and Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak/Squeal. The whine went away.

@@rogeliosoto6953.. I had to use a small fluid extraction pump that I have to change oil and transmission fluid.. It worked well, but many ppl just use a turkey baster to pull out as much of the fluid as they can.. add clean Mercon V.. Start the car and turn the wheels from full left to right several times to work the air out.. Do this several times till most of the old burnt fluid has been removed.. then remove all the fluid you can from the reservoir and add the Lucas, and work the air out again. It's a pretty simple job, just takes a little time.

Robert Miller thanks for the sub!! You don't need them. But I would recommend getting some in the future. Then get a alignment to be all set. Lowering with more springs do not require caster plates

idk how you did it in the video but there is no way you can change the rear springs on a GT/V6 new edge without unbolting the lower control arm. I guess you have a different model car. If you said that in the video it might be more helpful to others

GregFio12 absolutely you can. The rear spring removal is the easiest and should take 5 min a side. You have to simply unbolt the rear shock mount to the rear. 15mm bolts. Pry the stock spring out and the new lowering spring will set right in.

Right around that high is about perfect for a mustang this year. Nothing irritates me more than seeing people slam these cars. A 1 inch to a 1.5 inch drop is all you really need to make it look good. On another note why is this person putting so much money and work into just a 6 cylinder mustang? He's got the Cobra chrome wheels, a cobra front bumper conversion and chrome exhaust tips, it just seems like a waste to put all this money into a V6 unless you plan on V8 swapping it.
