Vaios Kaliakoudas. It actually seems to make some sense, you still get buttons and the touch feature relates exactly to what you are seeing. A handy way to increase the number of controls without further cluttering the dash and without burying simple controls in obscure menus.

I havn't seen anybody being so rough with a shifter since watching my mother in law driving. I think she was taught on a Sherman tank. My three 164s were pretty reliable and lovely cars. Not perfect by any means, but I remember them with great fondness. Looking back the overall quality was pretty good, with just a few niggles. I had twoTwin Sparks and a 24valve V6 Super. ( LS equivalent in US) The handling of the four cylinder Twin Sparks is vastly superior as they are so much lighter at the front, the engines are really robust and sound good and they are not slow either, but it's hard not to be seduced by the V6. I just had to have one in the end. Time is treating the 164 better. It deserves it.

They were built on the same chassi, but that was about it. When they crashed tested the chassi the Lancia engineers described the results as "excellent" while the Swedish SAAB engineers described it as "not good at all". Even if the Alfa and the Lancia might have been more charismatic engines, the SAAB 9000 outclassed them both in overall build quality.
@jaredkennedy29096 жыл бұрын
I like my 164. It surprises a lot of the Hondas and Nissans around here, is comfortable for long drives, and gets pretty good mileage. It actually gets better mileage than a four cylinder Altima, and doesn't suck your soul out in the process. Mine also has turned over 250k, so they can be reliable. The thing with the power is that it's effortless. It doesn't feel strained to do high speeds, at the rev limiter it's still pulling hard and smooth, and the wide gear spread let's the engine show off that wide powerband. I really dislike front wheel drive, but for three years this has been my daily driver and one of the best cars I've owned.

I love pretty much anything Alfa Romeo has made and this car is no exception. The Alfa Romeo 164 may be "Unreliable", but it has excellent driving dynamics and is one of the cars that every petrolhead or gearhead should own. I think just like any car, Alfa Romeos can be reliable as if you take good care of them. Would buy this car or the Toyota Camry?. Only a true auto enthusiast can answer that question and that answer would most definitely be the Alfa. Nothing beats the driving experience of an Alfa Romeo.

I cannot believe they were trying to charge $35K for a front wheel drive car based on a shared platform with SAAB. That $35K price is equivalent to a $62,000 car in today’s money. That suddenly makes it seem like a really bad deal considering a new Giulia starts in the high $30s today and it’s a proper RWD sport sedan.
@doabarrellroll694 жыл бұрын
This wasn't platform shared with GM, it was Fiat, if you didn't know. It shared it's platform with the Lancia Thema (which could be had with a V8 and the same turbo I4 from the Delta Integrale), the Fiat Chroma and Saab 9000, Saab at the time also wasn't owned by GM yet

Consumer Reports Alfa Romeo giulia return to the dealership for time literally four different times before they even were able to put it in there tests but at least we can still count on are Fiats right? Fix it again Tony! Fiat's and Chryslers no longer put a spare tire in the trunk but rather they put a spare transmission since you're more likely going to need that before you even get a chance for your first flat.
