Yes she had the power and shotmaking to go toe to toe with and even beat Steffi, but her very poor movement hurt her against an opponent like Graf at this point.

@@travisstrong5389 Davenport had some success later in the 90s after Steffi‘s reconstructive knee surgery. It was 3-3 H2H between them during Steffi‘s last 12 months on the tour.

​@@carrerau7138 Yes Davenport was much improved, and Graf also much weakened by injuries and age (moreso injuries as she wasn't too old yet but her body had gone through too much).

@@travisstrong5389 True to a certain degree. Her back problems were inherited, her mother had the same and at some point even had to fear that she would end in a wheel chair. As to her knee problems - her patella tendons apparently were located a little bit differently than it is common. Would probably never have become a problem if she hadn’t become a professional tennis player. That 16 year on the WTA tour is generally not healthy come with the territory.

@@carrerau7138 I wonder if her longevity would have been even better if her father did not make her join tour at 13. Also knowing her mothers genetics it probably was an unwise idea to push her out that early, and she would have risen to the top just as young even starting slightly later I feel.

She has quite a number of good friends! Just not the top players. Rennae Stubbs, Inez Gorrochategui and Patricia Tarabini are among her good friends
