I removed all the z28 emblems and put a single exhaust out the back and made it look like a v6 luckily the drag strip had loud cars and loud music. It wasn’t the fastest street car but was fun. I debated on doing heads cam and supercharger but it would need a stronger transmission and rear end so I sold it and went another wrote

I warmer states you can use a water bypass for the throttle body. The hot water heats the air charge going into the engine. Every 10 deg f cooler that the intake air temp can net a max of 1% horsepower ideally. 260 HP could increase 2.6 hp gain at 10 deg f. If the water temp going in is 190 deg f and you can remove that heat to outside temps you could possibly gain a few hp. I did this on my 94 Trans am and it cost about $5.

i remember when i was 20 and tried to make one of these fast....... you'll pull the front cover 100 times messing with opti spark and water pump. intake, upgraded igniton, corvette wheels, ac delete, headers. anything else and these puppies would blow like nothing only good for around 300 hp max before bottom end bearings leave the chat. also no room whatsoever to work on it in the engine bay.when they gave us ls1 in 98 it was a godsend, only a cam would make you over 400 hp.

Great shows for new mechanics and gear heads- or great mechanics to learn new tricks and what works- sad to see all these excellent hands on shows are gone- the number of true gear heads is dwindling- as a kid in the 80s i helped my dad do all maintenance on his vehicles- on weekends he helped his buddies w hot rods doing electrical and engine tuning- all my buddies learned to change their oil- plugs - etc.. but not many people do maintenance on their own vehicles, much less build and modify a car or truck- everyone is glued to their phones and video games now- times are a changin’
