(Re-uploaded in higher quality, in HD and in one piece. Sadly I don't have the full intro to this and part of the very end gets cut off too, I'll re-upload this again if I ever find the full pieces that are missing.) Air date: 8/27/1994. In what was the 2nd to last overall Championship show on Channel 5, this was the big event to wrap up the 1993-1994 season of the program, featuring the top five bowlers that had the highest three string totals all around from that particular season to see who would take home the top prize of $10,000. This show would also make history as being the only Championship show to feature a female competitor in the field of the top five bowlers.
The top five bowlers from this telecast were: Dick O'Connell, Tom Morgan, Tom Olszta, Janet Poch, and Bruno Defeo.
Hope you all enjoy, R.I.P. Tom Morgan and Dick O'Connell.

Janet is just as tough as all those guys. It would be an honor to bowl against her.

The championship shows of 1993 and 1994 are total carbon copies of each other and played out exactly identically. Here’s how: (warning: spoilers ahead) 1993: #5 seed Al Johnson barely squeaked by #4 seed Craig Holbrook 1994: #5 seed Bruno DeFeo barely squeaked by #4 seed Janet Poch 1993: #3 seed Brian McKinley DRAMATICALLY forced overtime in the last box and won it over #5 seed Al Johnson 1994: #3 seed Tom Olszta DRAMATICALLY forced overtime in the last box and won it over #5 seed Bruno DeFeo 1993: #3 seed Brian McKinley easily defeated #2 seed Jeff Atkins by 35 pins (139-104) 1994: #3 seed Tom Olszta easily defeated #2 seed Tom Morgan by 35 pins (130-95) 1993: #1 seed Tom Olszta started out neck and neck with #3 seed Brian McKinley, but ran away in the second string to easily win the championship. 1994: #1 seed Dick O’Connell started out neck and neck with #3 seed Tom Olszta, but ran away in the second string to easily win the championship. I mean WHAT are the odds of that?

Forgot her name but the only female competitor must have been kicking herself. She failed a relatively easy spare that only required being careful and that spare attempt was almost at the end of the game AND she only lost by 3. Getting that spare would have been worth more than 3 I think. Such a sad waste of an opportunity.

Ed Harding was an absolute joke of an announcer, and Don Gillis, though a true pro, was long retired from being the dean of Boston’s sportscasters.
