Had two of these trucks get maybe 7-8 mpg per gallon never had problems with the engine or trans both just rusted out to where it wasn't worth fixing south Michigan does that to them.

No, it had originally been black. It was repainted by Virginia Tech who owned it prior to us getting it. I suppose they wanted to repaint it to match the school colors! :)

The 7.5 is a gas motor, also known as the Ford 460. I own a truck just like this. The 460 is stout and tows very well. The only downside is its 10mpg towing, 10mpg unloaded, 10mpg pulling a house, 10mpg down hill.

I'm slowly upgrading and updating everything. Redhead steering gearbox, Saginaw steering pump, duracoat the cab, full exhaust and power pack from Banks, flatbed, bigger alternator, electric distributor, rear LSD, gooseneck hitch, etc.

They were good trucks but loved gas. If u bought a 6.2 superduty it would pay for itself. My 94 f350 460 got 9 mpg on a good day and the 2013 f350 6.2 is getting 15 and has more power.

Yes that new 6.2 makes much more power and is probably way more comfortable and gets better mpg. Different era trucks, for the price difference between those two trucks you can buy a lot of regular gas.
