The Corrado is such a great car. I had a 1990 that I had during high school. Drove it for four years before I had to sell due to college. Biggest regret in my life was selling that car.

This video makes me miss my Corrado soooo f’n much. Got it for $5k from a dude in San Francisco who’d basically kept it in a garage for years and it only had about 50k miles on it. But it was my first car and unfortunately I totaled it being a dumb teenager. If only I could get one again...sigh. So many great times and that VR6 was just amazing. Great video bro!

I've owned a 1994 Corrado VR6 for almost seven years. I'm in the UK so we have the 190bhp version. I love this car and I can't ever imagine selling it. I always wanted one and finally bought it to scratch an itch. Then I fell in love with it so much. I've had some nice cars but it is, without a doubt, the best, most fun, most characterful car, I've ever owned, despite being one of the cheapest. It sounds fantastic (the VR6 was one of the best sounding six cylinder engines in my opinion) and is just the right balance between an older raw car and reasonably modern build quality. There are no drivers aids. There is no electronic steering. Your foot it literally connected to the amount of fuel and air that is injected into the engine. It's really weird watching videos like this with people loving the car. The enthusiasm is infectious and makes me want to go and buy one... until I remember I have one sat in my garage and could go out there right now and drive it. Mine doesn't have a leather interior and has a few bumps and marks. It's not as good condition as yours. But it does have the (genuinely rare) black cloth recaro interior. The car in this video is in superb condition and arguably the best colour (we call it blackberry in the UK). I know this is a couple of years late and it will be sold now. But it's such a shame to see you sell it. I was the opposite; my wife didn't want me to buy one but I just brought one home one day. I've had more attention in my Corrado VR6 than some exotic cars. I've had people wave at me on the motorway, people cross over the street to talk to me, and others stop me at the petrol station. There is a genuine love for this car. A few Storms were sold in the UK in early 1996 too. If you sold it then you dun goofed :)

Great car! Had a '94 from new. Sold it 12 years later for just over half of what I originally paid to the owner of two VW dealerships. With a few basic mods, it also made for a great track car. Embarrassed many other more expensive/'faster' cars at the track 😉

I'd seriously consider it but I'm one of these guys that doesn't like a bombing loud exhaust, it just draws too much un-wanted attention. Whoever gets it is going to be stoked. I think it's one of the best looking cars VW ever made.
@tnetroP5 жыл бұрын
I own one and have owned several VR6 engined cars in the past. It's not that loud at all, until you press hard on the pedal. It's actually failry quiet and civilised until you hit the upper rev range. Then it sounds like a swarm of bees arguing with chewbacca. It's a delight to hear.

My first car ever was this exact model except it was more of an aqua pine green...found it on Craigslist back in 2004 from a rich tech guy in San Francisco who hardly used it anymore and just wanted it gone FAST. He bought it new back in ‘94 and hardly put any miles on it before giving it to his mother who baby’d tf out of it for a few years then passed away and he had been storing it in his garage since like 1999 with the mileage at around 50k if I remember correctly. I only paid $5000 cash!!! Best car I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, like I said it was my first car so I didn’t treat it as well as I should’ve and got in an accident a few years after buying it... had to sell it banged up and it was one of the biggest regrets I’ve ever had that I didn’t keep it and restore it back to its former glory (I scraped a retaining wall so the entire driver’s side had a huge long dent). From reading the comments it seems everybody else feels the same 🤦🏻♂️. Sigh.

I love these cars. 25k is very very high. Maybe 10-15k, MAX. I will admit to seeing some insanely nice examples for 15 grand. Back when these were for sale, VW was discounting them down to 18 grand range. I have a 92 VW GTI 16v that was recently called a Unicorn by a guy when i got new Serpentine belts done. Heh. Love my car (I will never sell it, and it is nearly as nice condition as your Rado)

@alexfernandez75296 жыл бұрын
I remember the G60 when I was in H.S. And then the VR6 SLC’s came out. I really wanted one and got sticker shock when I saw how much they cost at the time. North of $30K. I have had a 83’ Gti, 86’ Gti 16V, 86’ Scirroco 8v when I was in H.S. and bought a brand new 97’ Jetta GLX VR6 when I was in my early 20’s. I had a few friends that ended up with other performance cars instead of Corrado’s because they were easier to find and Corrado’s were expensive, you could buy Mustang GT’s and Camaro Z28’s and some BMW’s for less than what these cost. I remember someone who paid almost $40K for a Corrado SLC VR6 with all the bells and whistles. I sold my Jetta VR6 in the late 90’s and bought a used 98’ GTI MK3 VR6 with all the goodies like this Corrado. Absolutely loved the MK3 GTI. I ended up hanging on to the GTI for 12 years. What I likes about the Golf/GTI’s that I have owned was that there were soo many parts and aftermarket support for them. I hated my scirocco because it was so hard finding parts for that car. I remember the fuel injection system, air box and interior components were not shared with any other VW and it was so hard finding those parts when they required replacement. It’s always been expensive and a real pain getting parts for the VW Corrado as well. I pity a fool that buys a Corrado in bad shape. I’ve seen several G60’s that nobody wants to buy and a few VR6 Corrado’s that require too much work and Money. My brother in-law bought a Corrado VR6 with a Automatic trans. to fix and flip it. He had a hard time selling it. All the car enthusiasts wanted a manual transmission model and everyone else said it was too small! Anyways, big props on having a really nice Corrado SLC VR6.

Bro, I regretted selling my red 93 vr6 unfortunately for me I moved back to London but enjoyed highway cruising and racing bimmers on the Long Island highways. I also took it to H20 once and many times to Waterfest. Currently looking for one here in London, hopefully I find a decent purchase.
@drwisdom17 жыл бұрын
Not that it matters since you are selling your Corrado, but my seat broke on my 88 GTI and I got Recaros to replace it. Then when I got my 92 Corrado I ordered brackets so that I could install my Recaros in the Corrado. Those brackets allowed me to set the seat height to much lower than stock so that I have a lot more headroom.

@DoogieLabs7 жыл бұрын
The cup holders that come in a B3 passat work in a Corrado perfectly. With that being said, anyone who is riding in any of mine are too busy holding onto whatever they can grab to brace themselves.. Drinking anything isn't even in the cards.
