I was working at Guppies Pizza in Walnut Grove watching this game. When Ronning scored we all just went nuts....me especially since I had tickets for game 5.

I miss this era. The NHL peaked in 1994

I had forgotten how often and how well Kirk McLean handled the puck. Everybody knows he was the quintessential positional goalie, but he had great puck handling skills and awareness.

I have a sheet-ton of Canucks playoff games during the Bure years. It will take me quite a while to transfer them all and I have to hope my old VCRs will hold out. I have two very high quality VCRs. The games will always only be as good as the video tapes they were recorded on though. I am not sure if I have any of the Messier years but we will see. I have a bunch of Stanley Cup final series, all kinds of international hockey, all-star games etc.. I have been lugging these video tapes and DVDs around with me for decades.

Although I should say back in the day I did not have cheap VCRs, I always bought high quality VCRs, so even with games recorded at SLP the quality is not bad. And since my current VCRs are both top of line it helps. I do need to redo some of the earlier games though as I bought better capture equipment since I started.

I have probably a couple hundred games currently, and I am always on the hunt for more. The league seems to have given me a historical pass, I know they watched my discussion of their copyright claims and decided it was not something they wanted to take into court, my guess would be because they know they would lose and that would make it a high profile story so they prefer to just let me do what I am doing so it stays relatively quiet. They HATE that the Rome Convention stipulated 20 years, but as I have said keeping these games locked away until almost everybody interested in them is dead is just idiotic.

@@HockeyHistoryArchive that's amazing, I would love to see all of those canucks game tapes digitized. So many games have been lost to time and kept alive only on those old tapes. If there are any that you can't post because of copyright reasons I'd love to get a copy from you directly. I'm interested in everything canucks. Keep up the great work.

Leafs beat the Hawks in 6, Sharks in 7 but by this time they were exhausted physically and mentally. The travel has taken its toll on them and the Canucks used the bodies on them. Vancouver used those rest days when eliminating Dallas to good use.

People blab on about the 1993 season but to me 1994 was better. The playoffs in 1994 were better.

1st complete year of the Gary Bettman Era 😢 the shutout Canadian team streak will be hopefully end in 2025 with a Stanley cup . But a betting man says it won't happen.

Losing game two at home gave me the sinking feeling it just wasn't going to happen for the Leafs. All that travel and those pesky Sharks. Disappointing for sure. Bure or not,the Leafs should have won this series.

Yes I am and was smitten by our golden Russian boy the beautiful Pavel Bure and his Olympian physique. Such a beautiful man, lol. Yes you all will have to tolerate me, lol. But really, come on, is Pavel Bure not a beautiful specimen of a male athlete?
