First car I ever bought was a '94 325is. It was back in 2005, I was 20, had been saving for a bit, and found it for like $7,200 from a collector/mechanic in Hartford. That car was . I remember making the 40ish mile trip back to New Haven and just being blown away. Great handling, great acceleration, especially from rolling, (the only cars I drove in high school were my dad's Accord and Mom's Sienna), and it was my first (and only to-date) RWD vehicle. I was ecstatic... ...until I took it through the car wash. Half way home from the wash it started to lurch. Couldn't give it any real throttle over like 2,500rpm. Fortunately I was already in a residential area and just crawled the rest of the way. Next day, crawled/coasted to the nearest import dealer, again fortunate that it was pretty close, mostly down hill, and only through one major intersection. The car appeared to be in great condition. No noticeable exterior blemishes unless you were looking closely, pretty good leather for 10+years, and drove like a dream until that point. But there was a rust hole in the undercarriage (also later found out e36 had seal issues), and the car wash flooded the computer. Was not happy to drop another ~500 after essentially exhausting my savings.

325is was an icon in South African in the 90’s. In the E30 model.

325is in E30 model is only second to M3, but it’s not so great on E36 platform

The first time in my childhood life that I’ve ever seen window switches on the middle side up front was back in the late 2000’s when my nanny back in the day had a Chevy Equinox. Now that I’ve seen this video, apparently GM and Chrysler weren’t the only ones that have done this. Back then, I’ve never realized that BMW did the same thing.

They don’t open the valves more at all. It’s about timing.

The window switches are automatic, you just need to push them harder and then they go up or down

I had a 2003 Mercedes w that same temperature range (64-80). I think it is because German climate is more mild/temperate

Did 90s cars look better when they were new? I can say for early and mid 2000s no they never looked sexy to me.

I think these are gorgeous for being a 90s car, handsome for sure. But yeah I’m not into 90s cars that much, almost all of them are pretty ugly.
