If you did true dual straight pipes it'd be a whole lot louder. I have true dual 2 1/4 straight pipes with 6inch tips on my 95 f-150 5.0. it's so loud it can be a couple miles away. It has a nice deep throaty sound to it.

That old cat shell is likely cutting volume and changing sound, and the 2-1 setup isn’t helping the volume, probably still sounds good under load though

NGL. I'm a GM guy and that's a sweet truck. Incidentally, I just bought a 97 Merc Mountie with the Mustang 5.0 V8. I like it. It's not fast, but it can tow like a boss and still get 20MPG.

Yes i got a 1980 f150 with a built 302 h.o. (heads cam crank) and we had a friend up the block that called us complaining about it cause it was to loud and it would rattle his window but it also has insane cam loap to it

Yep they are loud as fuck. I had no cats just the 2 pipes running off the manifold on for 4 days. I was like nope too loud so I'm in the process of getting a full exhaust setup.

I like the way it sounds man and it looks good too. I have a 85 302 work truck that I'm re-doing a little and I have a single purple horny on it but im honestly thinking about doing duals instead because that way it separates the sound of the cylinders a little more so its 4 and 4 instead of all 8 mushed together in one sound. Kind of like how to me personally zoomie exhaust sounds better than open headers because you have more separate sound from each cylinder firing

Question. What did you do with the 02 sensors etc.. up through there? I got the twin just the burgundy one. Was thinking of doing it, but got stuck thinking on that part. Cold starts don’t just mean the temperature outside, it’s when the engine is cold. Which can be from sitting for awhile or it being cold outside.
